Has anyone heard of this so called "Pagan Motorcycle Gang"? They're only east coast U.S. from what I hear, but they keep popping up in the news every now and then. What's their deal?

Beats me. Do they have cool jackets and Harleys?
We've had Hell's Angels ride through and Peter Fonda's charity ride. No Pagan gangs though. Sounds like a job for Dragnet....:D

the Pagans and the Warlocks...motorcycle badmen

The Pagan Motorcycle gang has been around for awhile from what I understand.....They arent pagans in a spiritual sense.....they chose the name because of the bad connotation the word Pagan used to have.....from what I have been told.

It's the perfect way to re-enforce already unbearable misconceptions.

It is in bad taste. Maybe they'll meet some unamused Asatruar in their travels.... :D

I live in Florida and, as the other poster mentioned, the name "Pagan" for their gang is just that: a name. There have been many members of this gang (not only in Florida) associated with crimes, some as bad as murder. It sure doesn't give society, in general, a positive taste of the word "Pagan" if, in fact, they know nothing of what true paganism is.
Here's a link to one of the older articles published in the news:

Hi there, folks. I live in NY and Yes, I know of the Pagan Motorcycle gang. Yup, it's a name. No, the few guys I actually have an aquaintence with, never showed me that they are actual Pagans.
Motorcycle gangs have all kinds of names. They try to pick "bad A$$" names. To this particular group, "Pagan" seemed bad a$$ enough for them.
They and the Hells Angels out here just recently got into trouble. These two groups fight with each other all the time. They just recently got into a fight on Long Island at a convention. I don't condone the violence. I actually think it's stupid. But, because most of these gangs are full of men, they seem to get into pi$$ing contests and it gets entirely out of hand.

Most young guys(under 35) ride "crotch rockets" instead of Harley's and cruising bikes. At least around here they do.
So I would think the motorcycle gang is a dying breed. I'm surprised Hell's Angels are still around.
My mom remembers being freaked out when she passed them on a freeway once. I simply find them annoying. The Harley guys aren't bad but the little primary colored plastic bikes have a bad habit of running off the mountain and causing traffic problems.
The "crotch rocket" guys wouldn't fight, might mess up their colorful leathers. ;)

Here we have Hells Angels and Outlaws and the Red Devils.
*shrugs*
Doesn't seem such a big deal to me. I know a few who are pretty cool.

In defence of bikers, I've known many, and they can be really good people.
Like many other "outcast" groups, they look out for people they consider "their own".
Growing up as a little hippy child in LA, we were friends with several of the dudes from the local "club". I have fond memories of being babysat by a couple of fellows who went by the names "Push Start" and "Butch". (Push Start was cool, he knew stage magic.)
Once our car ran out of gas out on the freeway...before long a couple Angels crusing by noticed our car, plastered with Grateful Dead and Harley stickers, and brough us back gasoline and lunch, and refused any sort of payment. These were hard-core guys, and they went out of their way to help a lady with a child stuck on the freeway.
When we lived in West Long Beach (a nasty area) and our neighbor's house got robbed, several of the fellows from the local club took it upon themselves to check up on us every night for months afterwards, they knew a family with little girls lived there. We got invited to their chili-and-beer parties, and one of the women always made sure there was a vegetarian batch for us.
All in all, I'd trust a biker before I'd trust a politician or a cop. I've never been harassed by a biker, only have had pleasant experiences.
And maybe it's just my upbringing, but a Harley sounds just like a heartbeat to me...puts the smell of hot oil, chili and beer in my head... :)

Yup. When we went to see Ozzy recently there were a bunch of Hells Angels hangin' out. Hubby said something about wondering if they'd do anything and of course they didn't. Just had fun and enjoyed the show like the rest of us :)

I have to say as a rule I generally LOVE Bikers. The rotten ones are few and far between in my opinion just like there are rotten people in every walk of life. My dad has been a biker for 30 years and rides a Harley NightTrain and my mom rides a Harley as well. I have friends in many biker clubs like The Northern Riders and The Wraiths. All good guys and gals in my opinion.

Yup! I love cruisers and one day I swear I'm going to save up and get one. My dad rode and so did a lot of his friends, all superb guys.
But these little speed bikes annoy the hell outta me. They whine instead of roar, they drive too fast, they pass on curves, they're color coordinated and I'm afraid I'm going to be driving home one day and decapitate a guy leaning all the way over the yellow line.
Bikers are cool but the world would be a better place if the Ducati type bikes stayed off the road IMO.
Even Harley is making them now...:(

When my son's father and I used to date, lo these many MANY moons ago, his best friend's dad was in a gang. Outta NJ, cut I can't remember their name right now. I LOVED going to that house. Every weekend during the summer, there were beer-be-cues, volleyball, swimming in the pool. It was great. I missed those guys when me & him broke up, but it happens.
I used to frequent a bar by where I used to live, in White Plains (i bet Laiste knows the place! ;) ) and that bar was the ONLY bar in town I felt "safe" to go to by myself, because not one, but THREE clubs hung out there....Yonkers MC (Laiste knows a few too), the DT's (dirty thunder) and the Ching-a-lings....GREAT guys....No ONE, and I mean NO ONE, messed with me when they were around. Even bar fights, I felt protected, cause usually, me and the other girls knew it was coming and we just moved to the back. The worst moment I ever saw by those guys was a "stupid person" moment.....some drunken idiot bumped into one of the guy's bikes...RULE #1 when hanging in a biker bar....NEVER EVER touch a bike....it was ugly.
But still, those guys were the best. A lot of laughs and a LOT of fun. I still remember getting to go for rides at 1 a.m. down the strip on the back of my friend Greg's bike. :D

Illuminatus,
I lived there as a kid, from birth until 9. We lived over off of Willow, on Baltic (Don't ask for more street names than that, I wasn't allowed out of the *yard* so I can't tell ya' without looking at a map, LOL). At the end of our street was an Alpha-Beta grocery store, and the bike shop.

they are as you claim "badmen" but not all are lowlifes and non-pagans some are very deeply in paganism. like myself i'm speaking from firsthand exsperience. for i am one of them

My martial arts teacher was shot and died of his wounds due to a turf war in my area. I was friends with rival groups.. different members, but would not display colors, so was then left alone. I miss Vernon very much... my adopted brother.
I will say that any name they use, could indeed bring about bad connotations. Some groups are pretty begnign.. I have had them stop and help with my bike in the past.. Some are out for a name. It is bad.

I'd rather be around a biker gang than a street gang......

Thanks paganhammer. I just noticed this thread, and I appreciate someone correcting the mistake that all Pagan's aren't Pagan.
I used to ride with a Pagan group here in Ga. Also would ride with a HA group. Never decided to "join" up per se....just knew guys in both. They thought it was a kick to have the 15 year old on the '56 KHK ridin' with them. One of my best teacher in the Pagan religion was a Pagan MC member. Also, if I remember correctly, there is an Asatruar preist who goes by the name "Little Jesus" who rides a sweet trike with the Pagans in VA.
Anyway, those "croch rockets" get more respect from me than most "modern" Harleys do. The new Harleys are mostly manufactured and machined in Taiwan. Atleast the Japbikes admit they are Japanese, even those that build their bikes here in the States. I don't concider the Evo a Harley engine...not really. (BTW, I ride a '45 WLA civie)
