My dog Rusty has had diahrea this morning and yesterday morning. It was really bad and at first I didn't catch onto the fact that it was her with the issues, I had initially thought it was my other dog Lilly. Then this afternoon I'm about ready to go to work and I'm trying to get her up to go outside and her back left leg is all covers of jacked up. She was essentially walking sideways, unable to get up at times, and at other times just laying down and rather giving up on it. Eventually I got her into the car, made way to a 24 hour emergency veterinary clinic, and got her checked. There were no parasites to cause the diahrea, in fact we believe it was brought on by her raiding a bag of walnuts my mother was eating and had left out, from there we got some medication to ease the diahrea and make her feel a bit better, some soft prescription canned dog food that is very easy on the intestines and is hardly hard to digest(Which was subsequently eaten in literally 2-3 bites), and he told us that her leg was probably brought to the current weak state it is in because of her arthritis. Mind you this girl is 16-17 years old. She's a half labrador half golden retriever mix in case you were wondering the breed.
I'm really rather concerned about her leg. When she walks it's still with a tild, she kinda fell down the two steps of stairs when I was letting her back inside after I had to lift her up so she could gain her footing to let her out. She really can't get up very well, and at times it appears the back left leg in question just isn't moving at all, like she either can't move it or more likely isn't trying to. Mind you she was fine yesterday and then suddenly it's like this today. I hope it is just the arthritis, and that it could potentially be fine by tomorrow, but if it's not better by Monday I'll get some remedil(Pain killer for animals used rather exclusively for arthritis) and see how that goes. I'm just afraid this won't clear up and I'll have to put her down and I really don't want to because I'm only 19, I've had this gal since I was 5, and I was raised with her. Raised with her!
Rusty is my sweetest friend. Please include her in your prayers, thoughts, maybe send some healing energy at her, maybe even light a candle for her if you could.
Thank you, and blessed be.
