Ladies and gentlemen, I am requesting you send thoughts and protective energies for my hubby. He's a long haul trucker with a load heading to Wyoming. He called me just a bit ago, still in Colorado I presume, and said they are going to be shutting interstates down in anticipation of the next front moving in. HP is saying it's going to be bad. I told him to just stay put at the truckstop he was at but of course what I say doesn't amount to a hill of beans. He's sent a message in to dispatch asking them to verify the road conditions and advise him what to do. I'm asking ya'll to please pray and send protective and calming energies to him. He's only been driving for a year and this is his first experience with this kind of situation, he's pretty nervous. I just want him to be safe and return home in one piece. Blessings to you all...
ETA,,,,He made it to Cheyenne, Wy and the interstates are now closed. Don't know how long he'll have to sit...

My grandkids daddy is a long-haul trucker too, has been for over 4 years now. He's been through some crazy weather, been snowed in once or twice, took shelter from a tornado and came out to find a tree branch sticking out of his trailer, been run into by a mother and son who ran a red light (and died), and other stuff. It can be boring as anything and then suddenly everything changes, most often because of the weather.
A little common sense will go a long ways to keeping your hubby safe on the road, and reading that he checked in with his dispatcher to confirm road conditions sounds like he's using his good sense and should be okay. :hugz:

Thank you ladies!!! He's at a truckstop in Cheyenne. He decided to go ahead and get a shower. Now his truck is parked 100 yards from the truckstop door and just walking from the door to his truck,, his hair froze, lol. He's keeping a sense of humour so far.
Dispatch told him to sit tight for the night and they'll check conditions in the morning and advise him what to do. Luckily I bought him a coffee pot for the truck for Christmas and I sent him out well stocked with food. His dad also sent him a fresh batch of dvd's so he shouldn't get too bored. Now if I can just quit worrying about him...:hahugh:

Too bad he's not in Rawlins...he could hook up with Bob. Sending energy to all the stranded folks out there. It's going to be a cold and nasty night.

Hubby called about an hour ago and he's still sitting in Cheyenne. He said the winds there are calm but HP told him it's still whipping thru the passes. Looks like he'll stay put and see if they open the roads at 5pm...

I-80 is now closed again, west of Laramie. So your hubby is probably back on his way, but Bob and his son might still be stuck.

Hubby just called and he made it to Rock Springs where he delivers tomorrow. He said 2 hours after he got thru they shut 80 down again. He said he saw 7 flipped rigs and 2 flipped rv's in the first 120 miles out west of Cheyenne. Now he just wants to get unloaded and headed out of Wyoming..
Thank you all for your energies and prayers!! :hugz:
