 My sis got new glasses and everyone has been saying how smart they make her look! Makes her mad!

They look good on her but she thinks everyone thought she looked stupid before.....

hehe... I don't wear mine often (only when I'm driving and watching TV) so when people see me wear them they're alway like "Did you get new glasses???????"

I rarely wear contacts cuz they're a hassle so my nephew refuses to ride in my car if I'm wearing them. He says I can't drive without my glasses and crosses his arms. It's cute :D

When my husband was recently hospitalized, I stopped into the local comics shop on the way to the hospital one day.

Now, I haven't bought comics myself since Jo Duffy stopped writing for Catwoman, but Michael still gets some, and I wanted to pick his up so he'd have something to read.

Saw the 9/11 comic book on the shelves. Unfortunately, cash was a tad tight that week, so I had to wait till payday to get it.

Lol, Flaire! That's EXACTLY how it is with me! :p

Btw, that really was a neat picture...

Has anyone else ever wondered how Clark's identity mysteriously disappears when he removes his glasses and dresses in blue with his underwear over his suit? :D:D:D

Wow, I really liked that picture. Personally, I haven't seen too much art work made in response to 9-11. I think that the most shocking picture that I have seen used to be on Westwood Blvd. in Los Angeles. I found a link on the internet to show you guys if you are interested. I particularly found this painting shocking because it was ENORMOUS, and the beautiful woman in the painting is holding a large M-16. Keep in mind that this large painting was on a building of very, very, very, busy intersection, so everyone could see the message of war propoganda.

:rotfl: Don'tcha hate it when that happens? Especially after you've had your glasses for awhile (I've had mine for over a year and they still ask that. :ahhhh: )

I know! I've been wearing glasses since Freshman year, and all my friends still ask "when did you get glasses?"

Personally, I haven't seen too much art work made in response to 9-11.

In Sacramento we have a publication called "The Comic Press" that is all political cartoons. Comes out once a month.

The October 1 issue was very thin... and very moving. Wish I could send you a copy.

In the meantime, the following link has a large number of "first response" political cartoons relating to 9/11:

MSN "Attack on America" site (http://cagle.slate.msn.com/news/attack/main.asp)

There's one in particular of a fireman leaning over... and he has the "Superman" S on the back of his coat...

The one I like best, though, isn't there. (Or at least I haven't seen it.) It shows Lady Liberty, standing tall. And her shadow is armed with an upheld sword. I've seen another that shows her holding her murdered child... and mad as h#!!

Oh Kblackthorne, I know all about the Comic Press in Sacramento. I used to live in Davis and used to love to pick up a copy of the Comic Press, so I could read all the political cartoons.

Thanks for the cool link. I enjoyed seeing all the art drawn in response to Sept. 11.
