Okay I know I cant rush it but I am wondering if I am looking too far.I am really good at the void. I can blank my mind though I still HEAR cars go by, the cat breathing, the heat kick on. So I sit and wait blank and open for something..a vision, even from my own mind, and the next thing I know its an hour and half later and I don't feel like I have slept, I don't remember anything but blank.

Am I doing something wrong? Any advice. All the books have different advice and one said you can confuse your mind and pick a methos and stick with it. Well I am so far sticking with the go blank and wait method.

By the way I am a very BIG kid at heart. I have always been good at fancy visualization. Never let that go. But when someone tells me to visualize myself in a field and move to glass doors I can visualize it but I feel like I should be feeling like I am actually doing it and I have a hard time getting past that so I feel it is best for me to go with the void.

I know how you feel (in wanting to feel yourself doing it), so I tend to project a "soul body", and my soul body does everything so my physical body can be in rest and it still works.

I don't know about sleeping. For years I couldn't meditate without falling asleep (and I can fall asleep sitting up).

It can be frustrating, but one has to be patient. Do whatever works for you. I know people who simply can't meditate, and I know it's taken me years to be really satisfied with my meditation abilities. In fact I think I'm going to dig out my favourite meditation and astral travel books out and brush up :)

Well I have no doubt I have found my true path and I don't mind hard work but the hardest part is the test on my patience. I am ADHD and if I am interested I usually catch on real quick and this is a very humbling experience for me. I am waiting for my copy of Flying without a Broom, by DJ conway. I have heard good things.

That's one of the books I was referring to, Storm. If I remember correctly when I got it I didn't have time to read it and it got filed with my books and forgotten about for awhile :)

I often find that starting off concentrating on some magickal item, like a charm or rune script in you hand that has been charged or have had runes carved in them to help you have spritual focus often helps at first, and without realizing it your mind will clear itself. After awhile of doing this i could meditate and have some pretty intense experiences without the charm, it kind off trains you to focus your energy in different ways.
