Have you worked with devas before? What was it like? Do you work only with certain devas like the plant or stone devas or do you work with them all? Do you even believe in devas? I know little about them so I'm interested in what others have experienced when working with them. Thanks for your time :)

Hi there KylalaKitty. I'm not too familiar about Devas, but I have read about them such as in the Gardens of Findhorn, Scotland. According to some texts, a community was started there against impossible odds, producing some of the most beautiful and enormous plants/foods around. They produced some cabbages that were over forty pounds, and according to the founders, this was all done by working with the Devas of the plants.

Have I worked with them? Well, assuming Devas "control" plants and stones, then yes I have communicated with them. There have been remarkable studies done on plant/human interactions (read "The Secret Life of Plants" By Peter Tompkins.. it's incredible!) which threaten to shatter our perceptions about plants. Anyway, plants and stones live at very different rates and through different life cycles. Obviously, stones are on the slow geological time scale, while plants are not. Plants usually follow the seasonal life cycle. Anyway, what was it like? Well.. I'm only usually able to communicate (and be sensitive to attempts at communication) when I'm really in my regular schedule. What I mean by this is the following: I have been meditating everyday, I'm not too stressed, and I have been doing my daily visitations in the forest. I tend to physicall and mentally soften when my "schedule" is in order, and I become much more sensitive. Sometimes, i'll sit down and ask a plant or stone to share its story, or teach me a lesson (which is not always voluntary.. lol, rosebushes can be painful teachers). Trees are often my choice only because they live much longer than plants. Anyway, i'll often receive sensations that come as impulses, sudden "knowings," or images. Occasionally, I'll hear words too. It's quite remarkable what the plant, animal, and mineral worlds can teach us if we only soften and listen. Once the mind is quiet, there is so much around the world that is given a chance to finally teach us.

I often send "good vibes" to the trees I'm growing in my apartment here. I have a baby live oak at the moment, and just by visualizing it getting tall and strong allows it to grow faster and "happier." I produce the feeling that I get when I meet up with a close friends, and send those feelings to the plant. I'm sure it loves getting those as much as a person would..

Sometimes my mind does wonder if I am insane.. hmm :). It's possible, but sometimes you are just filled with such profound wisdom you know that your mind couldn't have just fabricated it out of nowhere. The best advice? Stick with it, and just relax. Stones have a much much slower concept of time, so you will need to "befriend" them first. I'm about as psychically retarded as it gets, so this is nothing paranormal or psychic. Just be, open up to presence, and keep and open mind.

Just for clarification... what do you mean by Devas?

If you mean the spirit or elemental spirits that Tranquility was mentioning or do you mean demonic type Devas from Persia?

LOL Im sorry but when I hear Deva it usually comes to my mind the Sanskrit word which means God, or the the Persian words very similar that means Demon. So I was just wondering.

To me a deva is the spirit of a tree, plant, stone, mountain, forest, land, a specific area life stonehenge, or a lake.

I will speak to a deva when I want to know the history of a location or what the deva might of seen at a previous time. I often communicate with tree devas and exchange energies.

I believe that the attitude of a deva will be affected by how its "home" is treated.
I will talk to the spirits in stones too.

I do it so often I dont realize it. To start just meditate for 5 min to calm yourseelf then ask for the deva to come meet you. Its best to be in the location of the deva.
Hope this helps you
