For five years I have been campaigning to save Britain's largest ancient pagan site from the destruction of gravel quarrying. When I first started, nobody had heard of Thornborough Henges.
Today, thousands of pagans revere Thornborough as the largest shrine to the goddess Brigantia, Briggid, Ur. Simply visiting the henges has caused spituality to awaken in people.
But they are still under threat.
In fact there is a ninety percent chance that on Tuesday, the planning committee will approve the latest quarry proposals.
I will be at the meeting, along with fellow campaigners.
We are asking for as much positive energy as possible between 10am and 12.30pm GMT on Tuesday 16th January to be sent to the North Yorkshire County Council Planning Committee, who will be meeting at Masham Town Hall in North Yorkshire.
Please allow the North Yorkshire County Council Planning Committee to see beyond the deception of possessions when they meet on Tuesday 16th January 2007. May they see the spiritual truth of Thornborough, and of the wisdom of allowing such a place remain untouched by quarrying, to remind us all of our illustrious pagan past and of the hope that such wisdom can be translated to a global level.
