is there a way i can put a button on a .html page that can switch .css files to display seperate style sheets without having to alter the code?

perhaps with javascript

the easier thing to do would be to make it skinnable, but that takes more then a button

yeah, actually. this guy does it: noah grey (http://noahgrey.com) as does zeddy (http://www.zeddy.net ). The former with perl, i beileve, and the latter with, as Myst said, Javascript. I beileve hes writing a tutorial for it, but if its not up when you look, you could e-mail him zig@zeddy.net and ask for the javascript and links to change it. I'm fairly sure that buttoms would work as well, though i've yet to test it.

I agree with myst ... skinning is easier. Though the same affect could probably be reached is you CSS everything and put it in divs and ID it ... but if you every want things a lil different in a look, you'll have to get pretty creative with it, i think.

Skinning would probably be alot easier. And all it is, really, is a matter of following a tutorial, loading some css and .php files when you want a news skin, adding a link on a page, and changing a few numbers in a file. Its fairly simple, actually. The tutorial at domesticat (http://domesticat.net) is very good and explanatory ... if you don't have your heart set on javascript, i suggest that.
