Ellie went in for surgery yesterday. She had tubes put into both ears and her adnoids removed. The surgeon said that there was lots of fluid in her ears and it was pretty thick. He figured it had been in there a while. He also said her adnoids were pretty huge...so they really needed to go.
She is doing well. Not to much pain, she's hungry and running all over the place.
She's noticed things sound different already. We were going to the bathroombefore she left the hospital and I flushed the toilet, she actually covered her ears uop. I asked her if that sounded loud to her and she said yes. It will be nice to see if and how much her speech will improve.

Thanks everyone!! I called home and checked in on her. She is driving daddy crazy. No pain and eating well!! Isn't it amazing how fast kids bounce back!!?? If it was me..I'd be in bed milking it for all it is worth!!

:woot: I am so happy everything went so well! :hugz:
Children really are amazing creatures. They handle things so much better than adults so much of the time.

Happy to hear she is doing so well! :hugz: When I was 7 I lost 70% of my hearing due to severely enlarged tonsils and adnoids. I remember after my operation everything was soooo loud! I got used to it pretty quick though and remember it being a wonder that I could hear the birds sing and people talking to me. :D
