Selenite???

[Prophecy]

I found this piece of Selenite in my Mom's collection. The strange thing, to me anyway, is that when you look down on it, it is clear, BUT when you look at the ends or side views its purple.

Does Selenite come in different colors?
I have only seen it clear to white with the center clear to gaze into.

I cant speak for all selenite but mine has a very very light blue color to it

Mine is clear. The colour could be a trick of the light perhaps, although I have seen selenite massage wands with purple ends? I couldn't say for sure though.

I've seen those wands.very pretty.But the purple on them is fluorite.

there is a variety of slenite which is yellow or orange. Selenite is a form of gypsum . also selenite is known to grow with other minerials.This might be and I repeat this might be the case.

Thank you everyone. It is a strange flat piece natural formation and looks somewhat like a wedge almost the size of my hand. Mom was known for getting such strange finds and then loosing paperwork LOL
