i have had many surgeries in my life, and my last one was very disasterous. it was 4 years ago, but i am still very terrofied of hospitals and having another surgery. but i really, REALLY need to have one more. i'm looking to do a spell to make me brave enough to go through with it. to make me get over my fears and painful memories. to make me feel like going through one more surgery is no big deal. to not feel like crying or have an anxiety attack every time i think about needing this surgery. does anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do/use for my massive spell? help would be very muchly appreciated. thank you.

Maybe try visualizing yourself after the surgery has been successfully completed and you are recovered? That way your attention is on the goal and not the process. And come up with a (very short) chant to use when you are scared.

This bindrune will help. From now 'til the surgery, draw it on a piece of paper, or carve ir into wood or Sculpy-type clay & wear or carry it. The day or night before you go in, carve it into a red candle and burn it 'til it's gone. You can also use a marker & draw it on your skin, like a tattoo (can be small & in an obscure place) so you can actually 'wear' it during surgery. This is a bind of Uruz (physical health & strength) & Eihwaz (in this instance, 'the backbone', as in the saying 'have some backbone', some courage).

Heres what you do, arrange fresh rosemary, stinging nettles, and yarrow in a vase. The bolster courage and ease fear.

Terrified? Wow. Two parts then.

First is for the surgery to go well, for the doctor's hands to be sure and true, and for all the staff to do their best for you. Does anyone know where to get those candles shaped like a hand with the wick coming out of the top finger? I’ve read about charms used to help with surgery but I like the rune idea, too. I think I’d put serious time into wording a prayer. Make is totally positive! But don’t dwell on the doctor or procedure too much, instead focus on how you will be afterwards! Doing all the things you can’t do now, about how wonderful you’ll feel and how you’ll be living healthy. Make it a mantra. Light candles, cast a circle, put as much energy into it as you can. Reaffirm it often. Post it everywhere. Say it as you go to sleep at night.

The second part needs to be for you! Being so deathly afraid makes the procedure and recovery more difficult! Do some serious healing self-love magic for yourself. Charge some spring water with stones and herbs (maybe make a nearby pilgrimage for them?), and use a drop in your bath water and at your pulse points several times a day. If you've got pagan friends, have each of them charge some water for you to add to yours. Water is so healing, especially of emotions. Drink more water! (We just don’t drink enough.) If you can, swim or sit in a hot tub, especially with others. You get the idea. Make little rituals and prayers of all the loving things that will help you during this time.

Last? If you can get some group healing, it would be a good idea. It won’t make your surgical procedure go away! But the love and power invested in you will go on into the hands of the surgeon and will go into your heart.

Bright blessings!
