Pardon me! But why would a Celt want to practice anything Germanic? They are entirely two different peoples with entirely differant beliefs.

Because historically they interacted with each other a lot, and in some cases the lines between what can be termed Germanic or Celtic become very blurred. The Germanic tribes nearest Gaul were very Celticised in many respects. Then later, many of the Norse people who settled in parts of Scotland became very Gaelicised (except for the very north of Scotland, Orkney and so on - they were very much Norse for a long time). Before this, there are hints of Scandinavian influence in Pictland as well - how much, it's hard to say, but in several instances the lines are not as strictly drawn as you might think.

Sounds like a great idea for a forum, and I'll visit later today when I have a bit more 'net time.

The word "Celtic" is very associated with Ireland, of course, but the Celts were all over what is today western and central Europe and so I am trying to learn more about their broader history and customs, esp. about the kind(s) of paganism they practiced.

The new forum isn't only about combining the two folkways or focusing on where they interacted. To me, it's more about identifying the differences between the two. I think both points of view are needed. We could always use some sage advice.

Maybe i'll reconcider? I found out my Welsh Sir name means " the peaceful Hun".I think Attilla the Huns gang are related to the Teutons? So I must have some Germanic blood in me. Can't claim to be a Welch Celt any more.
