Sorry if there is a thread like this already, but could anyone give me some ideas of where to buy smaller, inexpensive, colored candles? The only small, cheap candles I've been able to find are tealights, which are generally white, although I recently bought some vanilla ones at Target that are a yellow-ish color, but that's the only kind they have other than the white ones. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!

Have you tried any dollar stores in your area? That's where I get mine sometimes. Most discount stores (i.e. Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart etc...) also have small candles, not tea candles, but the slightly larger ones for reasonable prices.

Dollar Stores, thrift shops, your version of Target, Wal-mart, K-Mart, Family Dollar,Dollar General Stores, catch sales at Michaels Craft Stores or any Craft store.

I like to make my own, but have nieces and nephews whom rather go buy something than make it .

try pier one. they used to have small candles (called "spell candles") which came in a variety of colors, and cost like 4 candles for a dollar or something like that. They are small taper candles about as big around as a dime.

I don't know if 45¢ each is inexpensive enough for you, but http://www.somaluna.com has them in a huge number of colors (including metalic gold and silver) in plastic cups. Cool company.

Those packs of birthday candles, if you want some really small. They come in pastel colors and white, but a party supplies store might have other colors. Or paint or dye some white ones.

Another tip is to rock the after-holiday sales. Black candles are hard to come by, short of specialty witchy shops, but after Halloween you can get scads of them really cheap. V-Day and Xmas are great for red and green and white candles, and Xmas usually also yields discounted metallic-looking candles which are fun.

The JoAnn's by my hom has birthday candles that come in red, green, blue and yellow. I bought them out the last time I was there.

http://www.joann.com/

You can get online coupons...and they had seashell-embedded candles, tealights, amazing items that were not costly at all...

Best regards,
