Okay, first off I know 'The Craft' was a movie that didn't really show what witchcraft is like. I have a question though: Where the heck did their 'god' come from? In a review (http://www.movieprop.com/tvandmovie/reviews/craft.htm) it's mentioned that it's called Mano and that it's some form of witchcraft but I can't find anything about it. I have a hard time thinking they just made it up when there is so much more info out ther that they could've used.

The Wiccan High Priestess they had as an consultant of the movie made him up one day. She didn't want the name of a real deity used in the movie. This was one change they didn't overrule her on.

"From what I'm reading Manon is not a God at all, but was taken from another movie called "Manon of the Spring"
Read "Who is Manon" here - http://www.cog.org/nextgen/thecraft.html"

Oy...I can't tell you how many times someone has come into a chatroom saying they worship the God, Manon. Hollywood never ceases to amaze me.

. . . things that make you go "hmmmm". I wonder if gods and goddesses are ever created by belief and worship?
Or if they always were and always will be?

Oooo...I loved Manon of the Spring! And Jean de Fleurette. Great French films.
*smiles* I am of the opinion that the gods and goddesses always were and always will be. However, their powers and presence wax and wane depending on the number of those who "follow" them.

As All, they exist always. With certain faces and archetypes, they exist in the minds of those who call them and think of them. So is Manon perhaps a face of All for a handful of people? Possibly. That doesn't mean it's much more then a ball of energy stretched out over the minds of a few people. Is Satan anymore then that to most of us? *shrugs*
