It has been THREE WEEKS since I took it to be altered...all that had to be done were bust darts and a shortened hemline. My mum called Tuesday to see if it was done, they told her it should be ready by Thursday afternoon (today). So we go to pick it up only to find that SUPPOSEDLY the owner of the store's father died and she hadn't brought in any of the alterations. I say supposedly because the people at that store have been jerking me around since JANUARY with my dress. First its "the dress you want to try will be in in two weeks" so we come back in two weeks "the shipment is caught up in customs, it'll be in next week." So we come back the next week, "The dress wasn't in that shipment, we were mistaken. We have ordered it in a size 4 though, but we're not sure when it'll be in, check back in about 3 weeks." Okay, works for me...I wear a 4 so it was great, the dress would come in, I could try it, if it looked good, great, if it didn't, I'd get the red one that I knew looked good. Three weeks later we're back at the store. The red dress I had as a standby had been sold. I inquired about the dress I wanted. It wasn't in. "It should be in this next shipment, we've got a size 8 ordered." Well, that's not what they told me 3 weeks before. Frustrated, I just said to heck with it, and I ordered the dress in a 4. The girl told me that they'd call in the order tomorrow morning and it would come by UPS and would be here by March 20. Right then my eyes bugged...my prom is April 6! She then assured me it would be in sooner that they were making the dates conservative because of problems with customs. Well, turns out they were at least telling the truth there. However it was a WEEK after I'd ordered my dress that they called in the order. The good news is though, that it came in at the beginning of March. I went in for my fitting on the 14th. I figured, ok, simple alterations, shouldn't take longer than a week. Two weeks later I'm thinking we should call and check up on it. Finally this past Tuesday we did. See the start of this rant. Anyway, I'd have gone ballistic on the people there, but its not them who are the problem, really, its the owner. The girl who was helping me promised it would be in tomorrow morning. All I can say is if its not, or if it is and my dress is messed up, I don't care if this woman's dad really did die (ok, I care, but not having to do with this situation considering it was a sudden thing and didn't happen 3 weeks ago when this lady was SUPPOSEDLY working on my dress) I am just gonna scream and throw a fit. Had she been there today I would have. Considering we paid over 300 dollars for this dress and probably will pay another 50 for the alterations, this is REDICULOUS. If my dress isn't there and if I don't have it for prom after we paid that much, my mum is seriously considering suing the woman who owns the store. What is going on here is just bad business practice, and from what I understand, I'm not the only one having problems with them. I can say for certain that I will not be patronising them again and I will badmouth that business to anyone who will listen. To those of you who live in the Macon/Middle Georgia area, or might shop there for formalwear, DO NOT go to Special Moments Formal Wear. That is my public service announcement for the day.

Thank you for letting me rant.
