HAVERHILL - Tales of hauntings in the otherwise unoccupied 300-year-old Kimball Tavern had the imaginations of locals running wild when people saw lights flickering in an upstairs window of the building.
Local legend says the property is haunted. Some visitors insist they have seen or felt ghosts in recent years.
But the mystery of the lights spotted just over a week ago has been solved, and not by local ghostbusters.
It turns out the lights are of a more earthly nature, said Andrew Jacobs, director of Angelo Gordon & Company, the majority owners of the vacant Bradford College campus and Kimball Tavern.
