I love Scooby, my daughter loves Scooby, we could watch it all darned day, and do, sometimes.
Here's my issue with it, in every single episode, without fail, someone says, at least once, "There's no such thing as..."
I don't want this to start beating down her natural childborn sight and things. Most people agree children can see things adults can't, is Scooby the start of societies iron grip?
I try to talk to her everyday about things that are outside the grasp of society, in terms she might understand. Like: "you see faeries up there? Cool! Even if Mamma can't see them, it doesn't mean they aren't there..." sort of thing.
Any advice, or comments?

I wish I knew what episode, but there is a scooby doo that discusses Wicca. I heard bits and pieces from the other room, but couldn't get away from what I was doing to fully hear the entirety of the show. I think it had something to do with Scotland and the loc ness monster.
From the time my kids could watch TV I explained that everything they saw was made up or grossly sensationalized. Perhaps you could work from that angle.

The movie you're referring to is The Witch's Ghost. It's based in New England.
The Scotland and Loch Ness on is called naturally, Scooby and the Loch Ness monster
In the Witch's Ghost they do mention wicca and such, but they are really vague and don't make great points on the difference between wicca and being a witch, they even use the term warlock.

Don't worry about it, if there is something she feels isn't real or is real she will ask you about it. And remember, every child is different. When I was a child I learned to read at 2.5 and would only read non-fiction and social studies books. I grew up and I like Fantasy, Sci-fi, I even write it. I still do Xmas and V-day, etc. She will eventually decide for herself what is real and fake. I knew from age 1 about Santa and such, because I would always tell my parents "If Santa is real, why do you go pay the bill?"

I do too! Did you see my quote in my siggy? It's from the live action Scooby movie, the second one, it's the most awesome quote I have ever heard.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. My oldest loves Scooby Doo and has watched all the ones she has gotten her hands on. I think there is only one that she has found recently that she hasn't seen. She (and her younger siblings) know it is all fake and entertainment only. I think it is important to teach children that not everything they see on tv/movies is real or completely accurate. It helps later when it comes to all those commercials they are bombarded with. lol

OMGoddess we are so into Scooby Doo right now as well. My DS is only 3 but he just loves it and I love rewatching the episodes I loved as a kid. But must admit the newer ones are way better in quality.
The Witches Ghost movie is an odd one, Pagan wise. One on hand it seems really proPagan but then gets confused. The HexGirls rock though and I think my son as a crush on them.
We recently watched Scooby Doo: Zombie Island.
This one Daphne wants to find a real ghost and not someone just pretending. Fred is skeptical and keeps saying they're never real, just bad guys in masks. They go to New Orleans and visit a "real" haunted mansion. Soon ghosts and zombies appear and they are indeed real and are actually trying to help save the gang. But the villians in the end turn out to be animal morphing cat worshippers LOL I must admit this movie was one of the more scary and maybe a little gory (zombies) but we liked it.
In the end it's all just fiction and I like the fact that Scooby Doo shows something offbeat and people using their brains for a change.
