Wow!!!

Almost 500 members in under six months! Now if only we could get some of them from lurking... hmmm... I see you, don't be shy, we don't bite (unless you want us to.) Join in a conversation, we really would like to hear what you have to say.

Kudos to this community... Never have a seen a place where one could feel this comfortable. I joined when there were under 100 members (remember Witchbourne? You were #100!) and have watched quite happily as this community has grown. Our community has become a place where people can ask for help, join classes, joke around, pour their hearts out, discuss recent events and history, etc, etc, etc. all with out having to worry about getting flamed. Thank you to everyone who has helped this community become what it has so far, and what we envision it to be in the future.

Congratulations to this great community! I have 'lurked' around other pagan communities in the past and I have to admit that this is the first one where I feel that the members are genuinely friendly, warm and 'down to earth' people. I've visited other places before and was quite put off by the seemingly self righteous and almost elitist attitude of the members. Seems like courtesey and manners can easily be neglected even in the pagan community. So thanks again to all of you who extended your warm welcome....and welcome to my fellow neophytes, I think you'll like it here...

OH, you don't have to go to THOSE communities! Just kidding. :) I know what you mean about going to other communities and just being hit with that elitist, negative air. (AKA. Going to AAW, and getting belittled for asking a question that others thought was stupid.) I have to say that the atmosphere in here is very nice, and has been nurtured from early on by the members. I think that most of us here have seen witch wars, and I don't think that anyone enjoys them. That's why Mol and Semele and the other Staff members have made sure to curb personal attacks. It is just detrimental to the whole community, and hurts everyone involved. I think that the decision as a community to "agree to disagree" on heated subjects is one of the best ways to keep people from getting their feelings hurt.
We also have been lucky, and have not had people coming in here with the sole intention to harrass.
I am so happy to be a part of this community... :)

i'd been meaning to start this post for a couple of days now, and i had it up for about a minute before i came in here and saw it had already been done! that's what happens when you're slow around here: someone else will find the inspiration, too!

when we gather for the fireworks and virtual munchies, i thought that since not all of us get around quite as much as others, maybe we could have a little get-together in here. a sort of chatting, sharing, getting some people to come out of the woodwork kind of thing.

Sorry to be so slow with the pitcher, we had a fiber optic cut and a good part of the state lost losy internet, phone and even 911 service until about 15 minutes ago.

Well, that being said, the porch is way big, we just have to have a special seat for Red ;), so he can sneeze and such over the duckless pond.
