Whenver I do a ritual, and place my Cirlce, I never really feel the Divine or the Elementals. When this first happend, i thought that maybe, it was because I wasnt feeling to good that day. But as I kept doing my rituals or candle magick, I felt nothing. Is this normal?

I've never told anyone this, even the memebers of my Sisterhood, except for two of my closetst firneds (One is the HPs of the Sisterhood, the other is a friend from my diaper years. ) .

I know this is the path that the Heavenly Father and Earth Mother are wanting me to take...but why am I not feeling it?

Your question makes me want to ask you whether or not you feel the energy of the wind, or the energy of fire, or the energy and moving of the earth, and the vast energy of water?

Those are what I think of when I think of the elementals. I think of energy when I think of what people here call the divine.

Energy is everywhere, it's in you. You are a vessel of energy and what you are really doing, in regards to rituals, is connecting your energy to the energy of the elements and on a whole, the energy of the universe.

At least that's how I see it. I know other's have different views on the divine. I personally do not view energy as the divine, but simply as energy. Everything in the universe that possesses a molecule has some energy in it. I do not worship energy, but I do use and manipulate it everyday 24-hours a day because energy is everywhere.

Not to discourage you, but some people don't feel energy. I have known people who see it, smell it, or hear it, or simply trust their intuition. Perhaps for you energy will not feel like a lightning bolt or even a mild tingle. Perhaps you feel energy in the peace you experience when you're doing something spiritual.

Keep your chin up, and good luck to you.

But as I kept doing my rituals or candle magick, I felt nothing. Is this normal?........I know this is the path that the Heavenly Father and Earth Mother are wanting me to take...but why am I not feeling it?

yup..... you are normal. Fact of the matter is, quite a large percentage of people arent sensitive to energies.... and that is really..... an advantage....
Cos people who are sensitive to energies are affected by both positive and negative energies more strongly than people who dont feel energies.

Thing is, if your intuition is telling you that the path you are on is right for you and you feel comfortable with it....... and you are evolving as a more spiritually aware person, then you are not stagnating, but moving in a direction that will help you grow.... that's a good thing. It doesn't matter if you dont "feel" the presence of spirits or divinity........ there's lots of people who don't either, but who have strong faith in their deities and a good measure of wisdom gleaned from years of walking a spiritual path.

Also, I have found out through experience that not everyone who says they feel energies or the presence of spirits or beings actually do. Prompted in part by an interesting and ironic incident that happened recently, I actually did a mini-interview everytime I met a self-professed psychic or a "spiritual" person.....

I found out that about 80% of the people I talked to have never actually seen any kind of spirit being or energies at all. When really quizzed about their abilities to sense energies about 20% deny that they are actually sensitive to energies at all....(psychics included!)........

I found out that when a lot of "intuitive" people see spirits or energies, they are really only seeing the energies in their mind..... and most "spiritual" experiences which they experience are also ONLY in their mind's eye. Most havent actually seen a being or even energy with their physical sight! Which really made me wonder HOW ON EARTH they knew that they were really having real spiritual experiences at all!

However, when someone comes to them to say he has actually seen a ghost with his own eyes, the same "intuitive" people then say that the only reason he has seen that is cos his "vibrations" are low........ and they cant see it cos they are at a higher vibrational level! I actually heard that explanation said by many intuitives to people.

Lesson learned: "psychic" not = clairvoyant

What's the point of the examples that I gave...... simply that.....

1. its normal not to see or feel energies or the presence of spirit beings.

2. people around you who claim to have extraordinary experiences or see or feel energies... MAY NOT actually be able to do so.

3. one of the oldest tried and true methods of knowing if someone is a spiritual person who is walking closely with whatever deities he worships is to look at the person's life. If he stands out as an example of faith, or personal strength / will, or of compassion, or of wisdom and knowledge........

so don't feel there's something wrong if you don't feel anything.... its far far better to be honest with oneself...... at least where issues of belief and faith are concerned.

Some people don't feel the energies they are working with, ever. You may not be physically sensative enough for that.

Or, you might be expecting a specific feeling, perhaps. You might be looking for a specific feeling that someone else mentioned they feel. But in reality, that might not be the correct "feel" for you.

You might try giving yourself an exercise to see what *you* feel when calling certain energies. For example, you might sit in a darkened room with a couple of candles lit. Focus on the flame and ask the energy of the fire to join you in the room. Close your eyes and just feel the air around you. What do you sense? What do you taste, smell, feel, hear? Energy recognition takes on a different form for everyone. Write down whatever you sense during this exercise, and repeat it a few times until you see a pattern. Maybe for you, instead of feeling the energy, you'll notice different scents that let you know they are present.

It's a path of constant learning, and even if you discover that you can't really sense the presence of energy ever, it's ok. Most people can't.

I believe the closest thing ive come to that...is when I foucsed my energy into my hands and had my friend (shes wiccan) gently put one hand in the middle and discribe to me what she felt. I told her to be compeltley honest, and if she felt nothing, tell me.

Well, she felt something alright. And I think it scared the bejeesus outta her.
When I was younger, I was sensetive to energy, and I know as you grow older you grow out of it if you dont train and pratice it.

This is also my second time being led down this path. Im thinking maybe I'm a bit more afraid and leery this time... could that also be the culprite?

Maybe it's the rituals themselves? I feel energies all time and I am not a formal ritualist. I do not use the words of another or formal structure. I don't cast circles either. All space is sacred in my belief. :)

As for group stuff, I don't get much out of a ritual where someone else is reading out of a book or something. Or at least as seemingly uninspired as to seem they're reading out of a book or only acting.

I only feel energy from physical touch and emotion - the cool of blessed water, or reading my Tarot cards will uplift me and I'll practically vibrate from energy I've never felt before!

But spiritual energy from the Divine? I don't think I've ever felt that. I can't meditate and just feel it from (seemingly) nothing. I myself am trying to work that - I practice, I meditate, I try to connect to things on a physical level so that I might tap into it spiritual. Practicing visualisation, guided meditation, all helpful. I believe that everyone is born with the potential for higher intuition, but it becomes dulled as we grow, unless we nurture it. I'm beginning to do so and I encourage you to do so as well.

But remember, energy is always there, it just takes skill and patience to recognise it on a Divine level.

Wiccan rituals never did anything for me, either. Maybe you're just trying to hard, just let the gods come to you.

I guess I should have mentioned when I say "feel energy", I am talking with all my senses, even my hearing. It's different all the time. But just like when the T.V. is on, I feel that energy buzzing off of it, that isn't as strong when it's not on. That is sometimes what I experience, when working with energy.

Other times it's much different and there are sometimes when things that I'm actually focusing on, I can't feel because of the other energy distractions around me.

However, everytime I flex a muscle, that burning I feel, is energy being generated. I think of it in a completely scientific way, which helps me to tape into it at other times and focus it properly. Of course, this won't work for everyone.

Maybe you're just trying to hard, just let the gods come to you.

No offense, but that never worked for me. I know exactly how this feels - you want to feel something, anything, that validates your choices. You do your rituals, you call your gods and goddesses, you wait for that feeling - it never comes. You come away disappointed and disenchanted. For some people, that's the whole reason they soul-search and find different religions, because maybe in the next one, things will change. Sometimes, they follow the advice to just sit back and wait for the gods to come to them. Now maybe I'm just impatient, but I can't sit back and wait years and years and years until finally a divine presence finally shows up. (again, this is just my thoughts!)
I have never felt divine presence. Not when I was a christian, not when I was a wiccan, and not now in my unspecified path. The closest I have ever come to experiencing something divine did not, in my opinion, come from a god or a goddess. It came from nature, and from myself. That is what I worship. Nature, and my own energies. I don't really think I'm atheistic, but I don't really believe in gods and goddesses, at least not in the traditional dictionary definition of the word. But I get that divine feeling from nature and from myself, so that is what I concentrate on.
Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe someday a divine presence really will touch me. But right now... this works for me.
Maybe, maybe, something like this could work for you as well. But no matter what, do what feels right to you - that always leads you in the right path, in my experience.

If I was your teacher, we would work on some simple energy sensing exercises. Start with relaxing and opening up to the energy. Sometimes its difficult because we are so physically and emotionally closed to the energy. Relaxation and grounding are key to this, I believe. Maybe your HPS can help you with this? For me, it seems easier to learn if you have someone helping you...

I actually read this interesting article.... that kind of relates to your feelings. Thought you might like to read it. :p

some people need to work on it, when i first started working with the death essence it took me tremendous concentration to feel it, over time i have worked hard enough to where i am in contatc with it constantly, much to the dislike of some of the people around me. but what do i care? just try some meditation, some crystals, etc. but most importantly of all believe, believe that you are feeling these energies, but at the same time beware that it is not an overactive imagination, you should be bale to tell the difference.

I know this probably sounds quite weird but I had the same problems with feeling Energies and the Divine presence until I started to practice OBE's and AP. I have never felt Energy like it up until this point, fair enough they were my own Energies that I were feeling but once I had felt them I then started to work out the difference between feeling my own Energies and feeling other Energies that were not from me, and believe me, these feelings you get from other Energies can be very slight, it's just about opening up to yourself and the world around you, once you've done this you will start to recognise what is a "sign" from the Divine or from your Gods/esses or whether it's from you i.e. your own Energies. I hope this makes sense? It is kinda hard to explain but with meditation, Energy exercises, OBE practice etc. you will become more "open" and you'll start to recognise and experience the things you've been looking for ;) Faith and beliefs plays a major part in this also :)

Good Luck!!!

Is this normal?

Extremely normal :) Don't worry. There are two main causes to this problem and both are very easily remedied.

1) you aren't familiar with what energy feels like. Solution: practise basic energy exercises by yourself and/or with a friend.

2) you have preconceived notions about what you SHOULD be feeling. Solution: don't EXPECT anything, and instead be open to EVERYTHING.

The more you worry, the bigger the problem becomes. Just take a deep breath, relax and open yourself to the experience. It WILL happen.

Edited to add: are these your own rituals or are you participating in someone else's? I've been to MANY rituals others have put on that raised NO ENERGY of any sort and quite deliberately so.
