Oracle Cards are not the same as tarot. They may be used for the same functions, but they are not something most tarot readers would read with. The imagery is typically quite different than the three types of tarot cards so there is little that we can tell you about how to read them. Use the book that came with it for the interpretations of the cards. The spreads that you find here will work with oracles, so pick one or even use the instruction book, as most of them have some spreads as well. The idea is to ask a question, or define something; i.e. "What do I need to learn at the class I am taking?" Find a spread, or you may even just shuffle the cards and draw one. Now look at the interpretation of the cards, and intuitively figure out how that cards energy applies to the question/situation, as it applies to the position in the spread.

This is a down and dirty explanation, but others will add stuff also I'm sure.

Is this what you purchased? http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/tao-oracle/

If so, that is indeed an oracle deck and NOT a tarot, as Shatril has explained. Tarot decks have 78 cards that include 4 suits and 22 Trumps. The make up of a tarot is very specific (with very few exceptions) while oracle decks have more freedom to choose the # of cards and the meanings attributed to the cards.

If you purchased this as a set, it should have come with an accompanying book. Read it. It will tell you how to use the cards. Shatril also had some good suggestions. When in doubt, pull one card and read the interpretation for that card. Try to see how that interpretation can fit into your current circumstance.

Good luck. :)

Shatril and Lisa are right -

some tips I will give- aside from reading the book that came with your cards- ground and center yourself before reading, because haveing access to more energy will make it easier and more accurate.

think about your question while you shuffle. clear your mind of everything else. this will help getthe right answer from your oracle. if you are asking about what you are going tho have for dinner, don't think about the laundry while you shuffle.
