Just wanted to say hello to you all. I havent been on much between caring for the baby and my husband being sick.

I had to bring him to the hospital last thursday(15th) because he was coughing up blood. They took an x-ray, Chest ct,and I think an mri.
They found a cavity lesion /absess in the middle right lobe of his lung.
They thought it was Tuberculosis at first,so for the first few days he was in isolation. They diagnosed him with Necrotizing pneumonia on monday. That is an infection that eats away at the lung tissue. He has to be on IV medications for 2 weeks. They released him on tuesday, but he has to go back to the hospital daily for the IV medicine since we dont have ins and cant aford a visiting nurse.

We think he got sick from his work. They failed their health inspection miserably. There are several broken windows, mold in the heating ventilation, etc. A few of his co workers and some inmates are also sick. One co worker (also our friend). She had pneumonia around the same time his developed. They both had it within days of each other.
we've contacted a lawyer and are meeting with him on monday to see what our options are/what we can do.
He had his work file workmans comp papers, but they gave him a hard time.
I just wanted to post here, since this is where I mainly hang out. I did post in energy requests as well..

Heres the article about his work..

While a part of me certainly belives such a place in that condition should be sued, I have to look at it from another angle too. Of course, no employee should have to risk thier life that way. However, if the funds that he recieves will prevent repairs, and make future workers ill, it would be better to have a lawyer work out something to be sure your husband's health care is taken care of, and be sure the funds are used to fix the problems so no one else gets sick.

If I had sued half the work places I should have sued, it would have been several.

No one should have to suffer. If the employees are suffering that way, then you know the inmates are too. Even though that type of work is hazardous, it should never be hazardous in that way.

Best wishes

I understand what your saying. The director of this building does not care about the condition of this building though. He had said in the article that he started repairs in the fall, which is a lie.(my husband said nothing was done). How do we know that he will keep his word and fix what needs to be? I think sueing them will atleast get their attention and hopefully things will change for the better for the workers and inmates,or maybe someone else should take over running the facility.
we mainly want all the medical bills paid. I know if they dont fix things soon they may have more lawsuits in the future.
