My hubby was able to draw it out for me. It is a blue-ish moon with a magenta rose wrapped around it. It came out sooo nice. It is around my belly button. The artist said to wait a while before I get it peirced, if I still want to do that later. I'll have to take a picture of the tat. And ha! The guy said how much bellies hurt- it didn't hurt at all. It was more like an annoying scratch. The other artist came in and was like "Wow, you have guts!" His apparently hurt him a a lot. (This is why women give birth BTW ;))
*Happy dances over to the mirror---again* LOL

That's great! I was wondering how you were doing with the tatoo. Can't wait to see pics of it.
I've been thinking of getting one for a long time now but can't decide on where. The "what" keeps changing too.

Go you! I wanna see it. Sounds pretty.
I've always wanted a tattoo. I've gotta wait 4 more years till I can get one tho. :( Wait... It's only 3 more years (I forgot I had my birthday 8O). I want a fox, I don't know where at this point.

I'm with Wanderer, I'm getting a new one as soon as I decide what I want.
PS, the piercing bit doesn't hurt much if you've got someone good to do it.
Tee hee - the old ladies at the Y always look scandalized when I'm changing clothes. ("Did you see the thing on that girl's back?" - "Back? Look what she's got in her naval!"). Makes you wonder what we will gawk at in 50 years in the locker room.

Proud for you on your tat. Sometimes I think about getting one. I did get my naval pierced a couple years ago. LOVED IT! But, sadly about 2 months ago it grew out. Thinking about getting it done again. Again Happy Tats To You:)

actually, debbie, a friend of mine said that of all her tattoes the one that hurt worse was around the ankle. anywhere the skin is
real thin over bone.:(

he he, I tried to take a picture of the new tat with the digital camera last night. Of course it was upside down. :p But then I had no clue how to get it from the camera to hubby's computer. Maybe tonight I'll get him to take better pics of all my tattoos and I'll post them. We can start a new tattoo thread.
flar, I would have to agree with your friend. I have 4 tattoos, and the only one that even hurt a tiny bit was the one on my outer ankle, right on the bone. But then again, I *know* I have a high pain tolerance. I almost had my first born on the side of the road as I was convinced I was *not* in labor because labor was supposed to hurt more and waited until the non-painful ctx were only 3 minutes apart to leave the house.*eesh*
Since I am not working, I started saving for this one last year. Each time I got money as a gift (b-day, Xmas) I would put it away. And each tattoo I have marks a special moment in my life so it makes it a bit easier to find what I want. Or in reality, I want a lot of tattoos- just need more skin LOL!!
My kids were with my in the shop when I made my appt. They were looking at the flash with me. They were both saying "cool" to all of the pictures. Think there is any chance they will grow up not being tattooed? :D (hubby has 7 and is designing his 8th- methinks, not a chance, unless the kids want to rebel by having clean skin)
Thanks for all of the congrats- It is so excited getting new ink and I love to share that!! I can't wait to see some of your tattoo pictures too.

I agree with your friend, flar. I've got one on my ankle and, although, I wouldn't really say it was painful, the closer he got to my ankle bone, the more I wanted to hit him. LOL The rest of the time I just wanted to swat his hand away and tell him to stop it. It was annoying.

Oh, yes, they're definately addictive. :) I have two and want at least two more. I'm thinking that it's about time for my third, just have to design it, get the money, and find a place to get it done. I do know, however, that it'll be on my lower back, and will be a pentacle of some sort of design.

Mine hurt worse when he got to the fleshy part behind my hip... when he was on my spine it was just funny feeling my whole spine and everything connected vibrate! but for me the fleshy part hurt a lot - maybe the anklebone is more sensitive! It's probably depends where you get it. :)
I want another one, but I have no where else where I'd want one... :) and i have no idea what i'd get!
That pic is beautiful!

Garnet's words to live by:
"Tattoos are like potato chips. You can't have just one."
I'm thinking about what to get for my fifth tattoo. Yep, the ones on my ankles hurt more than the other two. So I am thinking of having a shooting star across one instep.
Actually, the next one will be an attempt to disguise a surgery scar just above one ankle. I'm planning a vine trailing over the scar, with four flowers, one for each niece & nephew's birthday. Does anyone know of any flower associated with the months?

That pictureis really beautiful, but if you do alter it I might advise adding some color - the black is georgeous just like it is but in tattoo form this is going to be a completely single needle job that will be more painful (and more expensive, and more time consuming) than one that also uses the color fill multiple needles.
I have a dragon on my chest that I wanted all black until the guy I worked with explained this concept to me...

Thanks a lot, fey. It's a great list. Now I have to find out the kids' birthdates. I know the months but not the days. I am so awful with dates...*sigh*

Ihi all! I am trying to get the picture up here. For some reason, MW won't let me post pictures. I'm going to have to try and find an old free website and post them there and then share the link.
SuperHeroGirl- that is beautiful! I wanted a faerie in a moon originally, but it wasn't going to happen since I wanted it to be around my belly button. Just keep in mind that anything with a lot of detail like that one is going to have to be a big piece, so you can see the details. I love the swirls in the moon- you don't want to take them out for the sake of size, IMO. :D
