I participate as an odd duck on a large Christian forum. Someone (a Christian) posted an image in my "hanging around and chatting" thread that really spoke to me. At first, I assumed that like most of the images that get posted in these fellowship threads, there was overt Christian symbolism in the image. But as I looked at it more closely, I identified more and more symbols I think of as Pagan.

And then it struck me (duh!), this image is about spirituality - but it is not specific to any religion. It speaks to pretty much anyone and everyone, and speaks with a symbolic language we can't misunderstand.

Symbolic "language" is often used to unite a group of people, and to exclude other groups. How much more powerful to use it to breach barriers.
