I know that we have some Christain Witches on MW, but how are you guys Christain Witches w/out going against the teachings of Jesus? Anways, real question: How can I get my energy out...I really feel that I need to do a spell, but maybe it's a diffrent twinge? I'm trying hard to be a more "traditional" Christian....-blah-..

What Christian law do you think you would be violating? The Christian god did after all give all that nifty knowledge to Solomon, and magic to Moses and his son Jesus.

Bear in mind that magic is not a toy, or a hobby. You should have a clear intent for a working; not just because you're bored, or think it'd be fun.
If you're feeling over-energized, go for a walk, play a sport, exercise, do some crafts, dance - do something with the energy there.
Christianity didn't become particularily anti-magic until the 800's and onwards.

Let's see... will they be mad? Hmm... I figure that Jesus guy was pretty magical, you know raising the dead, healing the sick and such and he was supposedly perfect soooo... logically YHVH likes magic, so long as you are drawing upon him or yourself. At least that seems to be the general theme.
Now as to how to get energy out... well there's all sorts of interesting and exciting ways but I'm afraid you'll have to pick the ones you like best. Of course randomly playing with the universe can be fun too so don't count that out though I imagine it can have more interesting consequences than say running a couple miles.

If you are not sure, whether or not is it right to cast spells, I suggest that you refrain from doing spells before you have found peace in the issue.
If you truly want to be a more traditional Christian, then spells are probably not for you. While Old Christianity and Judaism may have contained some magical elements, what is today understood as "traditional" Christianity, is a culture that strongly disapproves the use of magic. Magic is not considered as a gift from God, but associated strongly with evil spirits and Satan. As for the "teachings of Jesus", you need to realize that there is no one interpretation of them on which everyone would agree. Different churches interpret Bible different ways.
Of course, that is not the true picture...but my point is, that if you embrace magic while still participating in traditional Christian culture, you may get in trouble. People will probably not accept you, but you would have to keep your interest in magic as a secret. That is not a life I would recommend to anyone.
Because today's Christianity is divided into so many cultures (aka. churches), the question is: what does your church (your spiritual home) teach?
If you are unsure of whether you truly are a traditional Christian or something else, you will need to search the matter with open mind. You must be ready to consider the possibility that your calling may not be the form of Christianity you now consider your spiritual home. That is a very difficult path, but it also can be very rewarding. No matter where you will end, you will have strong foundations for your faith and practices.
All in all, in my opinion, you should not study spells at all in this point but to decide, what kind of spirituality you wish to pursue.

-Aina-If there is any doubt that you should be practicing magick, then refrain for doing it until either the doubt no longer exists or you decide not to do it. Patience is a great virtue - both Christianity and magick aren't going away any time soon, so you have plenty of time to research both.
I think you may be interested in the writings of the early fathers of the Christian church. They are rarely read by the modern orthodox Christians - most modern Christians have an unfortunate trend to not research their beliefs beyond the superficial details. However, I have a hunch that you are interested in the deeper knowledge. Here is a listing of writings of the early church fathers (http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/ecf/index.htm). There is much more information available on the website, but I figured that the early beliefs of the Church might be most appealing to you.
If you feel that you need to release your energy, you should try grounding. The concept is similar to earth grounding electricity. For example, before working with the innards of a computer, you must ensure that you are grounded unless you want the excess electrical charge on your body to cause the air between yourself and the computer to ionize, potentially frying your motherboard.
Energy work is second nature to me now, so if there is anything about my directions that I didn't explain adequately, point it out and I'll try to elaborate.
I center before I ground. That is - I draw the excess energy I've gathered to my center of gravity. It's slightly above the navel, and will feel like your energy is inside your belly when you're drawing the energy there.
Now, once you've gathered the excess energy into your center, your going to send it down into the earth.
If you succeed, then the earth will take care of your excess energy for you. And don't worry about asking too many questions - questions don't annoy me. :) It's better to ask than to assume.

 Did you consider doing some charity work maybe. Your energies are give to the sick to help them heal. Helping people always makes me feel like I give part of myself, even if it's just one on one conversasion with a stressed out friend.

Hello again Aina.
Here is a suggestion for you. Take the advice of the person that
suggested physical activity, go for a walk.
While you are walking, pray. Just have a long conversation with
Jesus about the people you and things that you see.
In essence, turn it into a prayer walk.
:)

I have not been to church in eight years now. I was born into a Seventh Day Adventist family, and was raised in that church until I was seven. We left the church, because memebers there were being (what my father thought) was not very Adventist-like. Since then, I kind of let go being invovled in a church and I went on my own path. I never stopped praying to God and Jesus, but my path became mixed with the occult. When I moved, i met many wiccans and my best friend is Pagan. I was curious about this path, so I dove into it. I really let myself enjoy the Wiccan path, up until I met my fiance. He is a strong Christain, and does not support the idea of God also being female, or magic or anything that isn't in the Bible. (Occult, Witchery, etc). I used to do spellwork and magic before I met my fiance, mostly candle magic. I have now since stopped doing any sort of spellwork at all.
I've also been doing meditation every morning and every night before I go to bed. This helps me expel some of my energy but not all of it.
Maybe "spell" wasnt the right word when I posted this thread. Im sorry if I've confused everyone :p Please forgive!!
Ah, that was quite long..
I hope I've sorted myself out....

I think, before delving into spellwork again, you should talk with your Fiance about WHat your spiritual path is. That kind of negative, 'disapproving' energy could hinder any spell or energy work you try to do. Besides, your spirituality, and spiritual path are a part of you, and he should accept that... but that's my two cents. Good luck on whatever you decide to do about your energy.

Keep in mind that I'm not a christain so any smitting is not my fault. But I don't see why any god or who ever else would get mad at you for doing. I know that some where in the bible there is something about not doing any kind of magic. But, surely it has to be one of those things that was added in and there for is not the black and white rule of Yahweh. Because honestly why would some god care wither or not you used magic?

I still think you should practice your faith how YOU want, and not how your hubby wants you too because he uncomfortable with it. Maybe if you educated him how and why you practiced Christianity the way you did, and it wasn't the 'scary unknown' anymore, he would have less than an issue.
ANYWAY, back to your energy build up.... try doing physical activity - a run, some kick boxing, screaming your head off until you feel so silly you fall into a pile of giggling mess (don't do that latter with the hubby around, he might think your are insane, but it is really fun, and get the energy out, lol).
Try giving the energy to the earth. Hell, she needs all the energy she can get back these days.
And whilst magic is not something to delve into with researching it, 'playing around' isn't always a bad thing. In fact, it is how a lot of us really learn about it. Yeah, occasionally nothing happens. Or something happens. Sometimes that something is good, sometimes it's not so good. If you have researched magic, studied the 'theory' and 'methods', you're not gunna kill yourself. In fact, even if you don't do all that, it's rare anyone has any serious life threatening situation arise from 'messing about' with spells or magic.
