I would like to ask that those that read this forum to please keep my mother in your thoughts. She had a major heart attack about a year ago and was lucky to survive. It killed 65% of her heart. Since then she has had serious problems with fluid building up around her heart. Lately she has had the fluid build up in her legs, feet and stomach. She went to a heart specialist today who admitted her into the hospital.
Tonight they are pushing a drug that will relieve the fluid. Tomorrow they will be doing a heart cath. and I guess if they find that she needs another stint put in her heart they will be doing that also. She also has a pace maker/defibulator already, along with a stint in there..
She has been doing really well lately and we have all been so happy about that. She moved into an assitated living facility and has become much calmer and healthier. And it has helped her hip..which she broke before the heart attack (just wasn't her year).
I'm not sure what time tomorrow they will be doing the test and possible surgery. But if you could light a candle, send energy, speak to the diety that you honor, etc.. I would really appreciate it and I know she would also.
Thank you.

Thank you very much Eternal Nite. I spoke to her a little while ago and she sounded well. That is a good sign. Usually when she gets admitted it is when she is much worse off.

Thank you all for all your thoughts and prayers. She finally had the cath. lab test today. Apparently they have decided that nothing is wrong with her and all the fluid that is built up just needs to drain off on its own. (This is b.s. but..).
Unfortunally the hospital that she went to is full of incompetant people. They have plenty of excuses but not enough answers for how she has been treated. I went in and complained in person to an administrator and spoke to another woman today. She was going to speak to my mom and other workers at the hospital to find out why they have screwed up so much.
Apparently when my mother went in yesterday morning at 9 a.m. they put her in the e.r. and left her. No one put a bracelet on her until 5 p.m. when they put her in a room. They did not feed her until 10 p.m. last night. Then at midnight they told her she couldn't eat or drink any more. So today she was scheduled for the test at "some time today".. They didn't get around to that until about 1 p.m. today. They finally gave her a sandwich at about 2:30or so this afternoon.
I told the woman I spoke to that I don't think my mother should be charged for the hours she spent in the e.r. since she didn't receive any service there. The nurses on the floor are going to be spoken to also because they took so long to give her pain meds and meds for nausea from not eating, and for not answering the call button.
All of my family is pissed about this. I explained to the woman that I could not come up with any valid excuses in my mind for why a person would be treated in this manner. It is rediculous (sp?) and should never have happened. I mentioned that the trip there was basically a change in scenery for my mother, since they didn't do their jobs and help her. And she (my mom) believes she should have never gone there to begin with. The woman was not happy to hear that.
But, if they can get my mother's blood pressure down then they will be releasing her today.
Sorry for the rant. I am just so fed up with places not doing their jobs. If my mother had walked out and had a heart attack while she was waiting around, no one would have had a clue that she was a patient there. And to tell her that the fluid will just go away is a crock. She has literally died twice from fluid build up. There is a simple procedure to do to relieve the problem. They looked at her like she had lost her mind when she told them how to do it.
And then I found out today that the not feeding people has happened before. Except last time it was done to a 7 year old child!
Ok, I will end this now because I am just getting wound up and can't really do much more than what I have already done.
Thank you all again.
Blessings,
ladyalpha
