We have run out of names with the new goaties so, 2 have no names. Even our kids ran out of names!

Our other goats are:
Pinky ( her name began because her collar is pink)

Bucky ( he was suppose to be a girl but turned out to be a male, a buck)

Shilo ( my daughters goat, named after a dog movie)

Oshi ( my sons goat named after a dog)

Rusty ( Her hair is rusty colored)

baadu ( Thats the sound this little girl makes!)

We need 2 syllable names cause the goats learn each of there names and 2 syllables are easiest to learn. But they need to have different starting sounds in order for each goat to recognize their own name from the rest of the herd.

Here are the nameless ones pics with a short description of each.

This is our baby boy. He is very independent.
He is 3 weeks old but thinks he is already a grown up!
He likes to show off how big he thinks he is.
He prances around with the grown goaties!
Plus he is very graceful when he walks, jumps, and runs.
My sig is also a pic of him.

This is a female and our mom. She is an awesome mom.
She is very protective of her kids and bosses the other goats around when her kids are with her, but when the kids are in the house warming up she is totally submissive to all the other goats.
She is very nosy and always comes to see what we are doing.
She is very patient and calm natured.
She is a total sweetheart.
She has a full beard like a buck would!!
It doesn't fit her passive personality.

So anyone thats has some 2 syllable words to toss around that kinda match the goat, bring em on!! :)

A suggestion:
Boy: Indie (short of independent)
Girl: Mummy (for the mother)

I like Indie too! It has a softer sound, which fits a danty boy and no other name starts with a similar sound! And I like the 'short for independant', I wont forget the name so easily!! :) He is the most independant one out of our pygmy's!
I gotta run that one by the rest of the human herd!! LOL

Mummy wont work, all my rabbits get called mom, mummy, mama, etc, when they are pregnant or with young ones!! LOL Poor goat would get confused.:awilly:

LMAO, my kids already got away with the dog connection!! Took me awhile to remember what names they picked!

I always have a hard time remembering names.
Whats sad is I have to always ask my kids what our rabbits names are.
The albino is Cinder!! The black one is snowball!! Now I forgot the brown ones name and the grey one....Grrrr. My kids drive me nuts!8O

What about violet for the mother? She does have a purple collar, I think.

3 syllables.
Goats don't learn them as easily.

One syllable is bad too as so often many words will have that beginning sound.

The beginning sound gets the goats attention and the ending sound brings the meaning of the word together for the goat.
With a 3rd syllable, the goat looses attention to the word, like ADD.

Plus she doesn't always wear that collar. She has a harness she wears too and its blue. And sometimes she wears nothing.

Pinky is the only one that always wears her collar. Pinky is attached to her collar like a dog can get.

How about...

Niko (pronounced Nee-ko) for the boy (Some friends of ours in Greece have goats, and one of them is called Niko)

and Flora for the mom? She just looks like a Flora. Although, I like Lucy also.

I love Indie for the boy. Boomer is another option. Or Yo-Yo. I'd say lil' Billy but that's three syllables. How about Thunder?

For the mom: Angel because she's sweet and protective. I like Sukie and Oona too. :)

Name them Tanngniost (Tooth-Gnasher) and Tanngrisnir (Tooth Grinder). They were the names of Thor's goats who pulled his chariot.

Well the family has spoke!!
Looks like Lady has been picked for the female, Thanks to Lunacie for the Bearded lady!
And Indie is the pick for the little billy, Thanks Minerva Mind for the Independent nickname! ( I couldnt poke you till I spread some first so I'll poke you after I make my quota!) LOL

I'll have another goat in need of name posted tomorrow I hope.
So please come back!! :fpraise:

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions!

Its seems easy to find names that stick and are easy to remember but when you have a lot of critters, your mind goes blank!
