Hi everyone!

I'm new to the mystic wicks and found this site while I was doing a google search for our ezine, Broomstix.

Broomstix is a free ezine for pagan kids. We publish a new issue approximately two weeks before every sabbat. The new issue for Spring Equinox went up this past weekend. Please have a look, share with your children and let us know what you think.

We are also looking for writers and artists to share their talents, so please check out our submission guidelines. We also publish children's work on our Grove page (they can also win a free t-shirt)--so please send it in--we'd love to hear from you!

I missed this post. I just wanted to let you know that I bookmarked the page. I will be showing it to my children and I am sure my oldest will love the tarot pages. She has been wanting to learn to read for years and tries with my decks. You have done a wonderful job on your site explaining the cards so children can understand.
Perhaps sometime you can add some information about runes for kids. ;) I also liked the easy crafts. The windchime could even be done with my 3 1/2 year old.
Blessings and good luck with your site,
ladyalpha

I was sent this one about a week ago and actually tonight finally sat down to show Toria. She loved it!

Thanks so much for your kind words :) I'm very glad that we've started working on the Tarot (and I'm learning new things as well--it's funny how when you break things down to basics, it really can be simple!). Runes are definately something that is going to happen down the road (including instructions for making your own set, making them out of cookies...):hahugh:

One thing we always seem to be short on is stuff for the Grove--please send in your children's work--we only put 1st names and ages (because of the internet) and we're giving away tees! Please email or PM me or post if you have any questions! XXNat

Fantastic!! I've been looking for something like this for my child. He's been showing an interest in my beliefs for a while and is always askin me questions.
This is fab!! He's just had a quick look through, very excited. We will be looking at it more closely later before he goes to bed. looking forward to making the windchime!!

We did the dream spell today. We altered it a bit to subsitute items we didn't have (pinecone for shell, etc.). The boys really enjoyed it. :D

Great job! This was great. We are going to be looking through it more closely later tonight, and I've already planned to try the dream spell and making the wind chimes. I'll see if RW wants to color one of his dreams (as he's just turning 4, we'll have to see how it turns out.. LOL) He's excited about the wind chimes. :D

Thanks!! ANd yes yes yes--PLEASE send in kids work! I'm hoping we haven't scared parents off by wanting to post on the web--some people want the children's names other id-ing info with the work, but I'm so leary of putting that kind of stuff, you know? My 15 year old is pretty savvy--but we still keep tabs on his computer usage. Does anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks! XXNat:fpraise:

I personally wouldn't want any idenification information on my children's work. They know what they have drawn and we know, that should be enough. If we were to share the site with others so they could see it, we could describe the picture also. So really I don't see any reason to have anything IDing them on there.
I personally feel as it is your site, it is good to have contributions from others, but overall you are the final decision maker. If someone has a problem with that, they can either get over it or they can find a different site to participate in. Just my opinions.

However, if a compermise was to be reached. I think first name and age would be more than enough information.
Again just my thoughts.
