I am trying to put togather a pagan newsletter, i havn't decided via post or internet yet. I was hoping ppl would be interested in contributing articles, ideas, and recipes, requests for a kind of article, etc. I think it would be a good way for everyone to learn , without the ceaseless searching and empty results of a search engine, formatted in a way that is understandable.
;) please reply, i really would like input.

Well for one thing money is a big issue. Having it done with email could cost nothing unless your writers want pay or something. But if you wanted to actually print it you'd need paper, ink, and if you planed on mailing it stamps (and the f-ing post office is gonna be making us pay about $5 soon).

Hi, I moved this to Just Talk because Public Announcements is actually where we make announcements about events. Like, if you had an event to mention you could do it there. Usually we put links (if you decide to go that way) in Pagan Geek, and if you made a print newsletter, you'd probably mention it in Books or Poetry & Literature.

That said, I've tried doing a newsletter before. People will sometimes offer to help out but unless you plan to write the bulk of it yourself for awhile it's going to be a sparse newsletter after a few months. The thing is people are excited to help out at first, but then the excitement dies off and people get busy, and it's hard to get more writers, and you end up writing it yourself.

Then add the costs *and* time for publishing it - whether printing it out or doing up a website - and it becomes a huge investment.

Incidentally MW is planned to have a repository of articles in the future. At the same time, a project is underway to collect information throughout MW and to post it in an organized way so people have a better interface to access all the info here.

i would be more likely to save the email for when i have time to read it, and it is in my face everytime I go to it. if it was on a board, I probably wouldn't bother using it... :)

I think that it would be better in an e-mail versus a message board.

I'm more of a snail mail person (for those who have seen my rants about e-mails..that's why)...and usually I take more time to sit down and read snail mail as opposed to e-mails ~ have more time or whatever.

But like others have already said...it depends on how much you want to spend.. The postal system is getting pretty expensive lately... ( Had to send a picture as a parcel last week.. And that cost too much d'aprez moi) But anyway.. Hope whichever you choose works out well for you

The heart of the matter is, i could send the letter sm and mail it in bulk shipping for about 12 cents apiece. e-mail is good, and printable. if anyone has any articles they would like 'published' by ppl that are actually wanting to see it, send it to me at zophoseternal@yahoo.com
(the e-mail i use for boards, i have about seven others :/ )
any suggested subjects? I have one on growing herbs I wrote awhile ago, for a speech, and wrote up a table of magickal correspondances a few months ago..... good start?

E-mail is cheaper and faster!

I'd be interested in writing here and there.... If I think of anything I'll send it over to you!

Definately post, I hardly ever read my emails, I've got like over 100 new, they're mostly junk...also post's more personal, and I'd take more time to read it.
