I just purchased about a dozen new crystals and stones. I was wanting to know your opinions on cleansing several stones at once, or should I stick to doing each one seperately.

I personally usually do "batch cleansings". One massive one on every midsummers day for all my friends who like the sun and also several times a year for those who like the moon on full moons... Then there are always a few cleansings done on the dark moons....

I usually do a weekly cleansing or monthly cleansing on stones i work with in the sun(except for a few).ones i don`t work with but just have around i leave alone and talk with the other stones and spirits that are around my house. The cleansing usually deals with water and sea salt(or with out it). Moonstones i always cleanse at a full moon. Angelite and selenite i just leave outside to cleanse as water will damage these stones.

I like to clean mine after every use and then monthly to remove any dust that may have settled on my crystals. I tend to do them one at a time. But I just like feeling my stones and so it makes it a nice time for me.

When I first get stones, I either rinse them in running water and then put them in my 'magick box', or I set them on my windowsill. Depends on what I'm doing at the time, how big they are, etc. There's not too much rhyme or reason to it.
Once I've done that, I'll generally then do the other thing! 8O As in, if I rinsed them in water and let them sit in my box, then I'll put 'em on my windowsill for a couple of weeks, etc.
Once I feel they've been cleansed and I've spent some time petting them or whatever, I'll either give them a use/do something with them, i.e., charge it, offer it to the Lord or Lady, etc., or I'll set them on the top edge of the woodwork of my window. I have most of my stones up there and it REALLY gives a great feel to my altar (it's in a dormer window facing West).
Some stones stay in the box... ones that are too big/small for the edge of the woodworking or stones that I feel take on energy too easily and need to stay in a nice, calm, positive environment where nothing can get them.
My "box" is my magickal/ritual supply storage box. I have candles, stones, herbs, writings, incense, those little charcoal bricquet things, and other little gadgets I find handy in there. I spent an long, long period of time cleaning and painting the box; it has a Celtic-inspired painting of my wolf familiar on the top, and scenes representative of the four elements on the four sides of the box. The inside is black and crimson. I also spent a lot of time spiritually cleansing the box and removing all negativity, then charging the box to 'neutralize' and protect all of the items I put into it. It's by far the most exhausting process I've done on any one ritual item, but was WELL worth it!

Thank you all so much for the responses. They were very helpful. The box idea I really like, as I have one similar to that to store my stones, crystals, and other small items in.

I plan on making a post about my box in the Pagan forums at some point. I love my box and it is by far the most rewarding thing I've ever made for myself -- and I make a LOT of arts and crafts.

I have several quartz stones and a large cluster that "live" on my windowsill- they are exposed to the sun everyday, and the entire cycle of the moon (south facing on the sixth floor) Could they be considered "cleansed" as they are constantly there? I've never done anything official in the way of cleansing with them. Since they've been there several years now, and aren't handled, will they be clean?
I guess it's in line with the topic!
