..baby clothes.

I have all the basics, exersaucer ($10?), stroller ($20?), carriage ($25?), portacrib ($20?), toys, and *clothes.* And that is where I have much of the problem. I have too many kids clothes! I was thinking, generally, sell for a dollar an item for the decent but not special stuff. The Gap, Osh Kosh, Children's Place sets might be closer to $5. I also have snowsuits...$5? Dressy clothes, $5? Shoes, .50 to $1? PJ's, $.50.... Do these prices seem fair? Since I only get a 8' table, I can only bring the best stuff, so everything will be in excellent or very good condition.

I am doing a lot of the pricing today and Friday and I just feel at a loss. Since it is a Mother's Market, everyone will be selling the same stuff, so I need to keep the prices down, but I also need to make some money.

Magically, I am going to charge the cashbox and put an aventurine in it. Hopefully, that will help. ;)

Thanks for the input.

The prices sounds really reasonable. I love going to these things & found great deals there. You don't have to put everything out on the table. Keep the extras in a box under your table that you can restock from. Don't let on that you have the extra stuff under there. People (other moms) will make a mess like you wouldn't believe! Been there, done that, & really regretted it. :p

I think putting basil leaves in the cash box helps draw money in too. I'll check that & get back to you.

Sounds really good to me too. :)

Those prices seem very fair and reasonable to me. If you really want to get rid of everything, toward the end you can take what's left and sell a whole bag for $5 or so.

Good Ideas! I think I got most of the pricing of the clothes done yesterday. I had so much stuff in my attic that I am only focusing on summer stuff. I swaer, I must have had 20 boys bathing suits- my son is only 5! Everything is between .25 for clean onesies to $3 for some Osh Kosh overalls. I even had some stuff with tags on it. *shakes head*

I also found some old baby toys, Fisher Price and Playskool, thsoe were all around a dollar too.

Goddess, please let me unload all of this stuff. I really don't want to have to bring it back up to the attic!

Thanks again for the ideas- esp. of putting some of the stuff under the tables- I have seen what some women can do in search of a bargain!

I think your prices sound very good. I especially think Freyja had a great idea, towards the end selling a bag (small bag of course ;)) for $5. Good luck to you!

You know, if you want to send any of your newborn boy stuff over to my house, I wouldn't mind . . .*grin*

(Amber, due in July with her first boy)

If you want, I can do that:) The sizes would be right, Scott was born in May. When I am done, I can let you know what is left, and if you want any of it, I'll box it up and ship it out.

Hey, really? That would be great, thanks! I'd be happy to pay for shipping, of course.

I love getting stuff in the mail :p

Amber, I was thinking that I don't remember seeing all that much newborn stuff. I must have given that all to my best friend when her son was born. I'll definitely see what I have left and if I find anything else up in the attic and let you know.

Wildchild- I was able to find out about the basil- in a cash register, it is supposed to attract customers. So I think that will be good. Umm, it shouldn't be a problem that the market is being held at a Presbyterian church, right?? LOL!! I guess if I get struck down, I'll know.... :evilway: :nyah:

Good news! I made $157 in just 4 hours Woo hoo! Now I get to go and buy my son underpants and pajamas and me socks!

Amber, there was very little in the way of newborn boys stuff. Some onesies and kimono shirts, that was about it. I have some cute short sets and bathing suits in 12 month size if you are interested. Sorry there wasn't any more there. :(
