I celebrate all eight Sabbats, but Ostara is my absolute favorite 1. because it was the first Sabbat I ever celebrated, 2. because I love spring and 3. its close to my birthday :hahugh:
So for those of you that celebrate the Sabbats, do you have a favorite?

My favorite is Imbolc--
it's important in my Irish path,
it's refreshing after the societal holidays of Giftmass/Greed Holiday and New Year's Eve/Irresponsible Drinking Holiday,
and there's no widely celebrated Xian/Common holiday, so no one else intrudes on it.
We have a Party as close to the day as we can, and drink a toast to the Tipping of the Year and the Return of the Sun.

Samhain... I love what it means to me spiritually, i look forward to it every year for so many reasons. This past year was the first on the new covenstead land and the first ritual in the new circle. It was an AMAZING experience.
it's also fun because our coven celebrates 3 nights. plant spirit, animal spirit and ancestor. we also have a halloween costume party the sat. before samhain.

Oh how I love Imbolc! It feels the most alive to me - it's when I fully climb out of the cauldron and take life head on. Probably has something to do with Pan's influence in my life - the whole charged up and rip-roaring raring to chase the sensual desires that have been pent up while in my little cauldron, but hey not complaining.

Ostara and Samhain are my two favorites.
I voted for Ostara though, since you didn't let me pick more than one.
I love Spring, new beginnings, etc.

I've always loved Midsummer. The world is so vibrant and alive, the hills are lush and green, the flowers are in full bloom, and the fruit is ripening on the vine. I love the thunderstorms, and that earthy scent of the air after it rains. After dark, you can hear to the frogs croaking and crickets chirping, and watch the fireflies and twinkling stars shine in the night. The tides of nature are at their peak, and it's almost intoxicating to me. It's a very magical time for me and I look forward to it every year.
I like Ostara, too, but it's still a little wintery here. It's too early for flowers, the trees haven't leafed out, and the grass is just starting to green up at the roots. But, you can smell Spring in the air, and you know that winter is at it's end. It's probably my second favorite Sabbat. :)

The Spring & Autumn Equinoxes have always been my favourite festivals. The smells, colours... how everything is starting to become bright and colourful in March and the cosy feeling of the end of summer in September.
The Summer Solstice is great, too. Lovely and sunny :)

Winter Solstice. There's darkness and stillness - and then a great big party! :hahugh:

Winter Solstice is my favorite for many reasons. It's deep and peaceful and thoughtful...and Robert Frost writes of it. :hahugh:
Samhain is my second fave. I love the season...the falling leaves...the smell in the air...the hint of change...the magic. Mmmm

I'm afraid I can't choose. There are some that aren't favorites (though I enjoy them), but of my favorites the distinctions are not preferences.
Imbolc - I was married on Imbolc, and it was also the first Sabbat I celebrated mindfully as a Pagan. I think I would love it even more in a climate with a stronger sense of seasons. Winter is not deep enough and the signs of spring are not precious enough, somehow.
Ostara - I was born on this Equinox, and there's a joyful sense that the bounties of spring are enjoyed by all of nature, from the birds who have weathered a season of cold and want, down to the earthworms and microbes in the soil.
Samhain - Perhaps because Halloween has always been my favorite holiday since childhood, and because after reading Ray Bradbury I understood why.
Yule - more than at most Sabbats, I feel the human world celebrates with me. The Winter Solstice has always been a time of deepened mystery to me, of death and birth, of the rhythm of dark and light, and of the power of dynamic balance.

Wow, Ostara is more popular than I thought it would be. I really love Imbolc too, its odd I worship in the Celtic pantheon primarily but my favorite holiday is Norse :P

Autumn Equinox is definitely my favourite because if all goes as it should (pfft!) rain should be on it's way and the heat should start letting up. *content sigh*

Didn't think Ostara would be that popular either!haha I don't feel very connected with that Sabbat.
My favourite has been Samhain from the start! And it's the one i experience most intensely.I feel the veil between the two worlds thining, the magic in the air,the spirits of the ancestors, the darkness spreading. It means a lot to me spiritually. And autumn is my favourite season! Also Samhain was the first Sabbat i celebrated as a pagan.
Beltane would have to be my second favourite for its symbolism and significance. It's so festive and cheerful and full of love. The fairies are everywhere, the veil is thining again.
Oh and i love the translation of Imbolc=in the belly.

Oh, Samhain! I love the ritual that is part of my solitary liturgy. I love the symbolism of the end of the year being the time where the living have the closest contact with the dead. Yes, magic is in the air! Night is suddenly richer. The feeling has something to do with being more alive! I also love that it's the end of my spiritual year, my true New Year, and that is far more important then the calendar change. I also get to work with Enodia, a Goddess that I know little about, but who speaks to me so clearly at this time.

I was born on Mabon, so you would think I'd be more partial to it, but I'm not. I'm really partial to Imbolc. It was the first sabbat I celebrated mindfully as a Wiccan. Something about that sabbat was wonderful to me. Things felt so alive. It was wonderful.

My favorite is Samhain. I just love the smell in the air and when the leaves turn different colors. That is the time when magic is in the air. Also my birthday is on the 29th and I just love that time of year.

I love both solstices, but Litha / Midsummer is my favorite!! Summer is at it's ripest, bugs buzzing, sun staying out late, my garden is in full swing, out door barbecues, etc. I know that some people think that the veil lifts to the Sidhe lands on Beltaine, but I find they are much more potent on Midsummer. I always tailor my rituals to them on Litha and we have so much fun  I just love summer.

I think Yule may be my favorite. I really love inviting the sun back, and lighting the whole place with millions of candles!
I've come to love all the seasons (i used to HATE summer with a passion... but now I understand its place, I actually enjoy it), and alongside that, I've come to enjoy the Sabbats that fall in the season Iused to dislike more. It's really hard to decide.

Samhain, definitely. Even one of my Christian friends (an unusually gifted person) can tell that the veil between worlds is thin.
