Car Crash Energy

Saturday I got hit on the freeway. A car in the lane next me, swerved into to me to avoid rear-ending the car in front of him and then pushed me into a pick-up truck on the other side of me which creamed the side of my car. Then the first guy took off and we weren't able to find him. So anyway, I'm fine, I didn't get hurt but my poor little Saturn is wounded. Any energy for the repairs not being too bad would be much appreciated. I'm paying out of my pocket, as the guy ran so I don't have his insurance info (if he even had any) and I only have liability so mine won't cover. Thanks

Thanks. I did have to bum a ride to work this morning and bummed another to get home tonight. I still have to find rides for tomorrow but I should be able to.

Whenever someone runs from a car crash it's generally because they don't have any insurance at all - or else because they have so many moving violations that they will get their liscense yanked. Even if this PoS hadn't kept on going, you'd have to take him/her to court to get any money at all. It's been three years since my daughter's car was creamed while she was waiting in line at a toll booth - the case was supposed to go to trial in February but the jerk vanished. The trial is now set for June whether he bothers to show up or not. Her insurance paid to help her get into a new car, but the ambulance service, the hospital, and most of the doctors since then are still waiting to be paid.

Best wishes for getting the car fixed without going bankrupt to do it. Glad you weren't seriously hurt. :hugz:

Thanks. I've always been very happy with the service I receive at the Saturn dealer, they very nice and I know they'll take good care of my car. The guy that ran knows what he did was wrong and he has to live with that, I'm not even going to worry about him.

Thanks. its true, while the body isn't hurt, I'm so stressed over this it isn't even funny. I keep really feeling bad because every single day I do a protection spell on my car, every day, and Saturday I forgot, so of course I'm thinking that if I'd remembered to do my protection spell, maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and energy. Took the car in today, and it wasn't good news. The car needs a new strut, hub, lower control and arm. Its going to be over $1000, just to get it drivable, and then the fender will need to be replaced, and they're going to have it until Monday, so I'll be scrounging rides for the next for few days.
