Festival of Eroteia

I know it was celebrated every five years at Boiotea...but I've been unable to locate the rituals associated with this Festival.

Does anyone have any information?

All I can find is:

Mounykhion (26 Mar - 23 Apr, 29 Days)
Mar 4 Eroteia Festival in honor of Eros


It doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere on the net but a few forums such as the mind n magick forum.

I don't know how accurate this is as it wasn't referenced:

Known as the god of Love. Eros is an always existed primal power of cosmos, or according to some myths is born from Chaos and Gaia or from Tartarus and Night or that is the son of Aphrodite. Is the personification of the cosmic power of contraction, which makes the principal particles to congregate and combine. Eros cannot create but with his energy all particles have the tendency to join and from this junction, live arise. One of the most important places, where Eros was worshiped, is Thespies in Boiotea - every five years the Eroteia festival took place.

Huh. Nothing really comes up. At all. :awilly: Perhaps the festival was more commonly known under another name?

No. That was the name. I have no idea what the rituals were. I guess it's to be expected. My research has plenty of rituals for other festivals, just not this one.
