The whole family is sick; earaches, sinus infection, allergies, cold viruses. We've been to the doctor and taken antibiotics more than once lately, but are still all sick. So we went to the health food store today to see what they could offer, and I needed to use the bathroom reeeely bad, and got 'gassed' by their air freshener. :ack:

I don't know what it is that some places use as automatic air freshener in their rest rooms (every time the door opens it presses against the doohicky and sprays the chemical stinky crap) but I'm terribly allergic to it and it's getting worse with each exposure.

There are a couple of places that I know to avoid because of this stuff, but never expected it in a health food store - otherwise a very healthy place, eh. My daughter says I look like a deer caught in headlights, and trying so hard not to cry which is what this stuff always does to me. It makes me all weepy. :wah2:

And on top of that I just learned that I need to replace all four of the tires on my van which means I can't afford to replace the defective light switch after all. Sometimes the light switch turns on my headlights fine, sometimes I have to jiggle it several times to get it to work. Saturday night the lights came on and then went off halfway down a dark country driveway, and I didn't think I was going to get them to come back on again.:ggrief:

I just need a hug, please? :rubhead:

:awilly: I just HATE weeks like this!
I think that if you explain to the owner of the store that the air freshener is having a very bad effect on your allergies, they might have a chat with them. It is a Healthy place, supposedly.

Thank you all verrrrrry much.

I'd be surprised if anyone other than a very small number of people who have chemical injury illness have a problem with these air fresheners. I'll just have to add their restroom to the small (but growing) list of places I cannot visit. Wasn't planning to use it today but this virus has given me the shittes (I know, too much information, sorry). ;)

More thankies to everyone.

And now - we have severe weather to the west of us. Hopefully nothing damaging, especially to the people in it's path. And hopefully it doesn't head over this way. Just one of those weeks for me, I guess.

My dear friend, love light and healing is flowing to you and yuor family. Hugs.

Thanks again to all of you. I'm still amazed at how many friends I've made online over the last few years after spending so many years feeling so lonely. :hugz:

Azzy, my ex-son-in-law would fix the light switch for me, it just depends on whether I can still afford to buy a new one for him to put in after I pay for four new tires. I'm thankful that one didn't blow out while I was driving home on Sunday after I picked up my grandchildren at their daddy's house. It sounds like that could happen at highway speeds in warm weather. It's the sidewalls that are splitting, sounds like a manufacturing defect, but the tires came with the van when I bought it used back in August, so I can't ask the manufacturer to help pay for new ones, eh.

The storms to the west of us were horrible last night - a whole string of tornados from Texas up through Oklahoma and Kansas and Nebraska and Wyoming, but mostly in rural areas and only two deaths have been reported. Another storm system moved into our area early this morning with thunder and lightning and pouring rain. We need the rain and it's come at a pretty good time since wheat harvest is still 2 months away.

THANK YOU EVERYONE... I'm just back from getting a second opinion about the tires and simply got the bad one replaced with a used tire (to match the wear on the other three). I'm pretty sure the place I went to yesterday saw me as a sucker - someone who knows very little about automotive stuff - but more than they think I know. Ha.

Since I didn't spend a fortune on the tires I should still be able to afford the new light switch so it'll quit shorting across my wipers and turning them on when I start the van. Almost like it's a haunted van.

However, to balance the good news - the school nurse called and said that my granddaughter was complaining about her rash and that she can't come back to school until she has a note from the doctor that it's not contagious. The nurse thought it was a side effect of strep throat, but the kid has been taking antibiotic for her ear infection for a week so it's very doubtful that she has a strep infection. And her doctor won't be in the office tomorrow so we don't know if he can take a look at her this afternoon or if she'll have to miss school on Friday and again on Monday. Arrrrggghhhhhh.

I know other people are struggling with these nasty viruses this year, but we'd had more than our share of struggle, especially Katlin.

More friends to thank! This is really working, we're all still sick but we not all grumpy and miserable about it. My granddaughter passed her Taekwando test tonight and won her green belt! The only time she coughed was during sparring when she took a kick to the throat. I don't know how she stayed focused when the rash on her shoulders and back was itching like crazy. We still don't know if that's another symptom of the virus she has or a reaction to the meds she's been taking.

Love you all, thanks so much. :hugz: :)

Ooooh, a couple more hugs, how loverly. I have been feeling better the last couple of days, although my knees are just killing me, especially after mowing the yard for the first time this year yesterday morning. I think we're all finally getting over the Crud that's been going around, but allergies are still bugging us since it's springtime. Although we have SNOW in our forecast for tomorrow! Wow... SNOW in April, that doesn't happen very often in Kansas. :shaker:

So a great big THANK YOU ALL again for helping us to feel better here at our house. :huddle: Hugs to all of you.

Wow, the hugs are still coming! Thanks everyone.

The little one is still sneezing, but I guess it's allergies, not a virus.
The bigger one only coughs a couple of times a day, so she's getting better... but she broke a tooth Thursday night. The dentist office was closed on Friday (Good Friday arghhh) but we finally reached the dentist at home and he met her at his office to do a temporary filling for the weekend. She's back in the office right now getting the tooth pulled. It's a baby tooth and he doesn't want it to continue to decay and cause an abcess in the new tooth beneath it.

The weather is supposed to warm up again, so hopefully that will mean that my daughter and I won't be hurting so much from the fibromyalgia.

Things seem to be going better, or it's just that I'm feeling better and can deal with it all better now. I really do appreciate the helpful energies and all the cyber hugs. :hugz:
