View Full Version : For Our Kitty

We've had bad luck with cats it seems. Our older cat suddenly came down with something that probably killed him. His back literally was crushed (we aren't sure if he got hit by a car or what) but before we had a chance to do anything, he drug himself off and we never saw him again.
Now, one of our little one's (not quite a year old) is coming down with something that seems similar. We can't make it to the vet, he's closed and we probably couldn't afford the care for the little guy either. Things aren't the best financial wise around here.
These cats are the pride of my grandparents, especially my grandfather and he doesn't care for cats much usually. He has one cat that is his favorite that comes inside most of the time and runs around the house, that's how much he cares for these little guys. He tries to get the sick one in sometimes but he usually doesnt.
So, I'm asking for a little bit of help for out guy. We aren't sure what's going on, what is attacking our poor cats or what they're getting into, but it's slowly dwindling our cat numbers from a lot to only a few. If he passes, we'll only have 2 outside cats left. Their momma, one of her newest babes died earlier this year from something unknown, and now her eldest is gone and it seems this one will be next.
Here's a picture of him if that'll help. Thanks.

Sadly, I do not think he will last much longer. He was never very fond of me for some reason, always ran from me, but today when I was outside, he wanted my attention. I gave him a bit of Reiki outside and a bit when he came inside. He wanted to walk around our house but we were afraid he'd go somewhere and pass without us knowing. I feel bad cause I picked him up as gently as I could and went to set him down on the floor and something caused him pain and he fell over and cried. It was heart wrenching. I gave him a few minutes of reiki until he got up. We put him back outside and have offered him milk and water, he will not take any of it, he won't take food either. He's rather weak and thin.
We called the vet today but they cannot take him unless someone cancels and we have not gotten a phonecall from them.
EDIT: This morning we found a strange cat our house. Not unusual really, unless you think about the state our poor kitty is in. She's a lovely, sweet little female cat that was afraid of us at first. I went after her and she came right to me. She's followed me around ever since. A guardian perhaps?

So sorry that you are going through this.
Your new kitty certainly sounds as though she is some sort of guardian - she has turned up when you need her.
Am sending comforting energies for your and yours.

We really don't have any other vets around here. We live in such a small area, we really only have one vet that takes care of everything from farm animals to pets.

Sadly, he died sometime this evening. We had fed him what we could and watched over him most of the evening. We decided to let him be so he could choose to go in peace if he chose to and he did.
I'm sure everyone helped him make an easy transition. Thanks everyone.

We buried him this morning. I'm just glad he's not suffering anymore.
