He is the best Grandpa in the world. He was my male rolmodel and he is in the hospital. I guess he has a staff infection and they had to take a chunk of something outof his butt. I didnt get the whole story but my gut is all in nots. Please pray for my Grandpa.

Thank you so much. I think my biggest problem is that I dont even know what a staff infection is and so in my head my Grandpa has this issue that is the "unknown" or why they would take a chunk out of his butt to fix an infection.......He is in Oregon and Im in California so I cant even be with him right now.

It's written as 'Staph' short for 'Staphlococcus'. If you google 'Staph infection' you can find out more about it...
Was the 'chunk' he had removed part of his buttock (ie skin/muscle tissue) or part of his bowel? If the infection is only on the surface, it is less serious I think... :hugz:
Also there's more than one type of staphlococcus. That might affect how serious the problem is, but I'm not entirely sure.

My information is third hand but I believe tissues. There was no mention of bowel. I just called the hospital and he has been discharged but when I called the house there was no answer. So maybe they are out picking up perscriptions? I hope? But I did verify he was sent home and not to a care facility.
Thank you iris Im going to google that right now. It is really hard to get info on something I cant even spell:lol:

Prayers and meditations to your Grandfather. May he heal quickly. Make sure that when he gets out he gets some VERY healthy meals and supplements if his Dr. will let them take them. Keep the sugar as far down as possible, as it feeds infection. And you and your young lady make him a beautiful get well card. Big and fluffy and silly with lots of love.
Bless you all,
wj

I totally had the same thing one time! .... I'm being serious. I even remember the month. It was February.
Staph infections are horrible and painful ... if you ever see a boil on yourself or on your daughter and it gets to be the size of a grapefruit between her booty and the top-back line of her thigh, let's just say it should've already been seen by the doctor and drained - don't follow in my footsteps o_o....
Sorry for the disturbing details, but I thought you should know.... I mean, the details for educational purposes, not just because you wanted a TMI...
:awilly:
I hope he gets better, though. If I could teleport him hot soup, I would, but a prayer will have to work for now ^_^.

Wolfjan1 we deffinately plan to. Glue and paste and all the frills. No glitter or beads will be spared for him.
Cake it really does help. That really does help. Because I am so far away 444.10 miles to be exact.
I know it has to happen at some point Im just so not ready to not have him. He has a handel bar mustache, drives a Model T, and tells stories of days when toilets where outside. I love him so much.

Make sure your little one knows that, and show her lots of pictures. And send him a picture of you both in your card. Grandpas, especially GREAT Grandpas, love that. I loved looking at my Dad's face when he saw the great grandkids or they sent him pictures. Lot's of people thought he was a fiesty old curmudgeon, but I always knew better.
