My grandad came home early, and this guy was knelt on the floor in the hall way going through my grandmas jewelry box. when he saw my grandad he panicked. He could find his way out so he threw himself out of a double glazed window (pity they live on the ground floor I say) My quick thinking grandad contacted the police imediatly and they found the guy within minutes, still running. Turns out this man was a herion addict who was out on bail. He has confessed (and sent an apology!) and is now facing a maximum of 5 years in jail. the police are questioning about another robbery, guess why they think he did this one? because he left his sock on the window ledge last night and it matches one from the other robbery! Apparently burglars dont use gloves they use socks!. When I went to their house, all of their belongings had been turned upside down. Both grandparents where in shock, theyre both ill allready (my grandma has just beat cancer and shes 80 next friday!) and someone does this to them. well, over the last 24 hors, Ive thought more UN-pagan
thoughts than I have in all my 26 years, im so angry and the things i would like to do to this person are unimaginable
thanks for listening, thanks for being there.

am sorry to hear, but glad that your grandparents werent hurt...
sometimes desparate people get violent. When I hear these things
my own anger rises up and I find myself short on mercy or pity.
Have to reflect and be glad of the good things and move on.
Wishes and Prayers for you and yours.:)

At least they guy ran, and didn't harm them. Although I know it is very unsettling to have someone have such disrepect and violate another person's privacy. They caught him, and no one was hurt... that is good, but I truely understand to want to kick some butt! ;):)

:dis: It sucks the way the elderly are always picked on for robberies... I'm glad to hear your grandparents weren't hurt though..

Dude, people shouldn't steal from old people. That's just not right. I mean if your gonna steal from people steal from people who are still working and whatnot.
But my uncle is a coke addict, so that gives me a lot of pity for the guy. They aren't thinking clearly. They just know that they need whatever their hooked on. And since they don't have any money all they can do to get it is steal. It's not really something they can control anymore. So don't be to hard on him. He's got enough problems.

So very glad your Grandparents are okay. It's wonderful the police caught the guy so noone else will have to pay the price for his controlling addiction.

Mysticvik,
I am so sorry to hear that your grandparent's lives and home were made all topsy-turvy. It is such a creepy feeling to know that someone has been rumaging through all your personal belongings. However, their home and lives can be put back into place. As others have expressed, I am very happy to know that they were not injured. And I think your granddad deserves the title of Superman for his ability not to panic during the tense situation and for his quick thinking, which led to the guy's capture.
Blessed Be.

there's a lot of that going on in britain lately from what i've been reading in british papers and hearing from british friends. i'm happy to hear your grandparents were not physically hurt. there's rather less of that sort of thing where i live since house burglars tend to have short careers with painful, sometimes terminal endings. we'll all hope they don't repeat the experience the rest of their lives.
