Hi all. I'm going to be picking up a copy of the Poetic Edda sometime soon. I'm curious as to which translation is regarded as the most thorough and accurate. There are quite a few on amazon, so I got a bit lost going through them. Thanks!

Get as many as you can.
I have the Hollander and Bellows already, with the Faulkes and Dronke on order.

I have Bellows in hard copy and I really prefer it to other translations, however I do agree that you should try and get as many translations as possible. (Unless you want to learn Old Norse and just read the untranslated version... lol) You can find most of the translations online for free to refer to.

http://northvegr.org has Larrington & Bellows (I think).
When I get rich & famous, I'm gonna order Chisum's translation
