a friend of mine has recently found that while he's been stationed in the deserts of Arizona, everytime he tries to draw in the energies of the earth, all he finds are these dark tendrils reaching out to him. Any advice would be greatly welcomed.

This is actually not the first time I have heard that about Arizona. We have a few members from there maybe they can shed some light on the matter. If they can not I can email my friend who had remarked on that to me and see if she can.

Thanks Yvonne, I appreciate it incredibly.

It could easily be because of the fact that they used to test nuclear things here in AZ. My grandma actually just got a large sum of money because her brother or husband died from result of this radiation. Where exactly are they stationed?

Suppose, being the subject of this post, I should throw my 2c worth in...
First of all, the nuclear testing is not done in Arizona - it was done in White Sands, New Mexico. Just thought I should clarify that...

As for the energy... I've never really had this problem before. I come from Pennsylvaina (this may have some effect on things) and so am particularly attuned to that area. There is certainly a lot more life there - more trees, more water. Out here in the desert, everything seems dead, almost.... In order to actually feel anything, I have to go right up to a tree and touch it. I get very little of the nice, comforting, "white" energy that I got back home.

Because of the lack of energy that I feel safe using - there's no doubt in my mind that I can use the darkness, I just don't feel comfortable doing so - I haven't tried doing anything in a long time.

If anyone can give me advice on this, I'd appreciate it....

welcome to MW! I have therories but, that's all.

Now Sedona is a "hotbed" for various religious activities. Mostly "new-age", I can understand the possibility of them appearing as neg. energies to a person looking toward more ancient ones.

The energies you feel aren't evil or bad....just foreign. There are the energies of the ancestors of the indians. Then in come the new-age folks with a different frequency to the energy they send and recieve. Despite the fact they are trying to contact the "Old Ones".

The energies you feel are just at conflict with each other I belive. Try meditating with a piece of hemitite stone (for grounding) and clear quartz (for clarity). See if that helps. ;)

Peace

You know.... it's funny you should mention that... (the stones that is) For a while a slept with several of my stones beneath my pillow - a piece of hematite, a piece of quartz, a piece of granite from a river back home, and my worry stone, a droplet of green glass... And I always slept better then... I'll have to start doing that again....

sleeping with hematite in the same room is actually not a great idea

dark isn't nessicarily bad. . . but yeah it could just be weird energy you're not used to

T.T don't say the desert is dead! One of my absolutely favourite places in the universe is the high desert. It's right up there with redwood forests (no pun intended) and the ocean. And they are ALL teaming with beauty and life, to me. . . :D I love 'em! And deserts are especially incredible places for energy. . . lots of times there's not a whole lot of human habitation, and if you've a keen "eye" you can see the "lay lines" or "dragon lines" or whatever you call them. . . they scared me at first, but after someone explained what they were, and I let that fear drop, I could see the beauty and magesty. Could this be part of what you're seeing/feeling?

ne, dellit. . . how come?

actually you could feel the radiation possibly if you live in NW
arizona. As most nuclear testing was done in Nevada. Most
continental nuclear testing that is.

The friend I am referring to grew up in Yuma and has felt the dark feeling energy herself and told me about it so I will see if I can get some info on what she felt perhaps it is the same but it could be different. A new perspective never hurts. :)

I had lived in Arizona for almost 10 years. And most of that in Tucson, about 8 years. Maybe the energy isn't familiar to you but there is much good energy in the area. You just need to get familiar with the desert. :) Try sitting outside under a mesquite or palo verde tree. They often have little saguaro cactuses under them, which they shelter until they are fully grown. Just take some time and let yourself sort of relax into it. I know when I lived in Copper Creek in Oro Valley (township kinda thing in tucson on the north side of town) I used to like going out into the desert and climbing the big old mesquites and just hanging out. Another place was under one of those lovely palo verde trees which actually had some nice grass under it in the middle of the desert, which was cool. Arizona is really just a very cool place, I know it's probably kind of a shock for you coming from a place s green but AZ really has it's own magic :) Just look at our beautiful mountains and creeks! Or try going up MT. Lemon which might be mre familiar to you since it's green.. If you'd like to talk sometime please IM me! AIM: Sassy12385 or PrueP3Halliwell MSN: Sassy12385@hotmail.com See you...

Edit: Sabino Canyon is also quite nice!

I'd have to go to the side of caution myself here. Yes this energy may just be starnge but I'd avoid it myself.

Have you tried pulling from fire or air (it is a dessert afterall)

My grandma said it might be that when you pull from the "earth" most people actually are after the energy of the plants in the area and if there is none there..... Or you could be on top of an oil flat... have you tried other locations???

Of course there are plants in the desert! Tons of them actually. And no not all cactus. There are many trees and bushes ext there. Let me please clarify that 'desert' does not mean shifting sand dune and that is all. Personally I think all this is ridiculous. It is another part of the earth, and while maybe people wouldn't be used to it coming from a green state, doen't mean it's 'strange' or bad or evil. Give the southwest and Arizona a chance! It's a great place, don't act like you'd be sucked into a black hole just for doing things there.

I don't necessarily think it's got to do with being sucked into a black hole. I think it's mostly just strange things that he's not used to, you know? >.< I mean.. being me.. I'd be a little scared if I saw dark things coming at me. Maybe just because I'm inexperienced.

Dark isn't always bad. Maybe these dark energies are what she/he needs right now? Have they tried exploring it with proper shielding?
