I'm very used to performing rituals/ casting spells alone.. and I have a friend who is not necessarily wiccan, or pagan.. just a totally open person- she loves hearing all about wicca! and we have been going through alot of the same hardtimes/confusion lately and i was thinking about casting a spell for guidance/clarity..
my question is- is it taboo to include someone like my friend- not a pagan/wiccan -in the ritual/spell? could she help me? i know she would take it seriously and enjoy the nice cleansing break away from it all (as it always seems like a little vacation from reality, or vacation INTO reality, whichever...) so is this unheard-of?

thanks for the input beautiful ppl.

BB ~ ULA Greetings *ULA* This is a very touchy question. I find i am also a solitary person when it comes to performing my rituals but i have learned to share the sacredness of ritualizing with others who are of like mind and spirit. You must ask yourself some questions first...like just because your friend is a totally openminded person will she cast negative energy on what you are trying to acheive? Nothing is taboo as long as it doesn't do harm to anyone...including yourself.
If you believe in your friend then go for it, but be careful if she decides it's not for her and laughs or talks about it to someone else, make sure you are able to handle the energys envolved. Sometime we can be really crule
towards each other.
Whatever you decision i wish you success, and may you gain a new ally in your endeavors. Walk in light.

I willl back Adrian on that. So long as the energy is positive, there should not be a problem. I would suggest, however, hat this conducted on a waxing moon. That could help with the positive energy flow. Do you intend to invite your friend into you circle? If so, have your friend go through a prufication rite prior to entering.

Blessings to you and your friend.

I would do a spell alone and then if she asks include her the next time. Getting personal guidance on how to do these things is tough.

Your question is also tough and touchy. There are a lot of different views and opinions on this kind of thing but you should make sure ... IMHO ... that she wants to be included. You might talk to her about it, but she should really ask you. That's just how I would do it.

IMHO :) If it feels right then why the heck not? As long as she's receptive to what you're doing and has an interest, I'd say go for it. Your own energy won't be affected, and she may even find she has an interest in the craft, so you are as I see it in a win/win situation. Trust your heart, and listen to that inner voice, if they have no objections, then there is no harm. Honest. ;)

I think just inviting someone to circle is not a very wise thing.

Me and my husband were invited and if we had known nothing about being pagan or magick we would have had a hard time. (BTW one of the reasons we were invited was because we were seekers) Primary points to know, what magick is, energy projection and grounding!!!, what casting a circle is and how its done, what to expect, how to stop it if it freaks you out, keeping a pure purpose for magick! All the little things you take for granted because they are already locked inside your head. Be careful with your friend for thier saftey and comfort.

It can also be scary if you're not ready for it. Thanks for reminder.
