okay, this is a question involving stones and a touchy subject that i hope someone(or anyone!) can help me sort out.
I have been dating this very sweet, very shy guy for about 3 months now. We are both very fond of one another, words of such affection have been made known via instant messenger(he is much too shy to say these things in person to me), but not much physical contact (nothing but snuggling and hugging). He even wishes he wasnt so shy.So I have already asked him if i could make some sort of spell or charm to help him out with his shyness, and he is okay with it. Sorry for rambling, im just trying to provide substantial background info on the situation. So far ive been trying to find some good stones to work with(i work best with stones and herbs), but with not much luck. A friend has suggested i use amethyst, but i think that might be too strong of an idependance energy (last time i gave amethyst to anyone, a previous bf, 2 weeks later he left me). I was also considering a SMALL piece of jasper, just to start stirring amourous approaches, but im still not to sure about that. I'm almost just as shy as him, so we are in the predicament of both waiting for the other to make the first move. lol! We are both bumbling idiots. :D
Anyone got any suggestions?
Again, sorry for the length.
You guys rock!! :D

My goodness. That sounds exactly like my high school boyfriend and me. We never really figured it out. But I eventually grew in my confidence and have no problem now with making an advance. I would try something to help with both your confidence levels. Maybe a Tiger's Eye for courage along with a Rose Quartz for the love and friendship. Just be careful not to bind yourselves to each other through the magick. Good luck.

It sounds like you're taking a very mature aproach to the situation! :D
What I've done is to charge a piece of agate wrapped in borage leaves with confidence, carry it with me, and rub it everytime I feel nervous/shy. It's worked for me, I'm not saying it'll work for you and your b/f, but you're welcome to try it!:)

I recommend hematite (perhaps a hematite ring)... you might also consider making him a charm with a Thurisaz Rune on it (for a picture of Thurisaz, see All about Runes in the Divination Forum); Thurisaz is one of the most 'masculine' & 'confident' Runes... for yourself, make a charm with the Rune Kenaz, a feminine Rune; one of it's representations is the 'fires of passion'... good luck...

LunarMist: i might as well ask now: isnt Tiger's eye for independance as well? (im all weary of the whole independance engergies of stones now). I love rose quartz! why didnt i think of that before!
Ball-Bhreac Ròn:hrrmm...if only borage grew in my garden. I'll be sure to try it (goes over to pal's garden and swipes borage leaves) *snicker*
Rick: Hey! finally i hear from you!*jumps up and down happily* Runes are good! I use runes, but ive been too stumped as to what i should be doing, to actually think about using them! hurah! Thanks for the advice...this norwegian is greatful.

Thanks all. :D

I'm blushin'... :bigredgri

...and on behalf of the 'gang', you're welcome...

"If friend thou hast whom faithful thou deemest,
and wishest to win him for thee:
open thy heart to him nor withhold thy gifts,
and fare to find him often."

Havamal 44:1-4 (Lee M. Hollander trans.)

hey! that looks familiar! (me being stupid..lol!)
interesting translation...i like it far better than the first one i found.(which for some reason now the translator's name has escaped me).
i think it went like this:
"If you have found a friend you truely trust,
and wish for his good will.
exchange thought
exhange gifts
and go often to his house."

that one is a bit more easily remembered..probably because it sounds more like the children's verses my Oma used to recite to me.

should i be weary of it's chaotic and dark qualities? should i team it up with a gentler rune, or would the Kenaz i'm using keep everything in balance. It is my bf's shyness that i am trying to help him with; i can assert myself when the moment strikes. Would Thurisaz bring out "fires of passion" as Kenaz does?
