There's a cat in a palm tree, in the backyard of the neighbors behind my house. My dad's watched it for hours, and it still hasn't come down, it looks young, and he even called the humane society to get it down but they said to call them tomorrow because it hasn't been up there "long enough."

then i just walked outside and its drizzling and cold, and i felt really bad if the cat has to be stuck in the tree on a rainy night. i can't do anything about it because its in somebody else's yard, and there's a crazy dog back there sometimes that almost ripped the arm off my neighbor's dog.

i'm not asking for advice on what to do, my dads gonna call the cat rescuer people in the morning. i just feel bad for the poor thing and wanted to vent a little.

mysticwicks, at least send some goodthoughts to the kitty to help it last through the night or get out of the tree...

*sends kitty positive energy*

i meowed at it a lil. to see if it responded. i feel so bad for it i wish i could help it.

I happen to have a cat (he lives at my Dad's) who stayed in a tree for EIGHT days before coming down on his own. Just relax... kitties are resiliant creatures.

When ours came down I renamed him because I figured he deserved a badge of honour after his ordeal.

I hope it either finds the courage to come down or gets help coming down.
Hopefully it finds the courage so it can manage if it ever feels the need to climb up a tree again.

Good luck to the kitty! I'm sure it'll be fine.

i have had that happen before, it was soooooo sad.

there was a palm tree out side my window and i could hear this kitten crying up there. unfortunatly the kitten was in the owls nest, and they said the same thing he was not there long enough, and did not have a ladder high enough to get him down. he ended up stopping crying half way through the night, i had my head set on (after a while i couldnt take it any more) so i didnt hear if he fell asleep or was killed.

i know mr owl eats kitties, he ate one of ours before. my mom heard him getting picked up by mr owl, it was very sad,

i had to sit there and hear this poor kitten cry for half the night, it broke my heart and all i could do was think to my self its natural selection.

i hope the kitty gets down from the tree,

A fire fighter I dated once told me in refernce to this

"We don't do cats."

"Why not," I asked

"Because, you never see a cat skeleton in a tree do you....."

Sorry, I found that quite funny... hehehe

Well, maybe the kitty hasn't come down (if he hasn't) because of that dog that the OP was talking about in the yard. Hopefully they were able to get kitty outta the tree.
