Greetings Tarot folks from the Druid Forum!!!
Ok, Twigs got a problem. I have a set of cards with no instructions. It's a "Merlin Tarot deck by R. J. Stewart. I got them second hand and a LOT of the cards are pretty foreign to me in relation to say the W Rider deck.
Specifically-right now, I need to know the meaning of the Fishes card. A lady friend used them for a reading just now and we have no idea as to the meaning of the card and, it's a card relating to the future!!!
Anyone have this deck or know of an online instruction manual for it?
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Peace,
Twig

Is it major or minor arcana? Useally they corralate with one of the original suits. Like for my Deck, Shields are pentacles and staffs are wands. Etc. Etc. Fish to me sound like a cup maybe?

Yep me too! How many fish does it have on it? If its just one look up the meaning of the ace of cups, 2 two of cups and so on :)
Im not sure if anyone does have it round here, but you never know ;)
It looks like a really beautiful deck! It must be very powerful

Quote from Wicce's Tarot Collection:
"The Minor Arcana are also very interesting. The Aces are gorgeous. The Suits are renamed to become Fishes, Beasts, Serpents and Birds. Court cards are untitled except by suit, but feature figures which correlate to the King, Queen, Knight and Page of traditional decks. The numbered cards are a uniquely drawn set of pips, with Pictish and Celtic interlaced pictographic designs. Many people may find their single color backgrounds and line drawing styles boring. I personally liked their clean lines and simple looks. "

Like in the pictures given on this page, I think the Bird card would be a page or knight. .....and the "change" card would be the 2 of beasts. I would get out your old familiar deck.....and then as closely as possible match up the minor arcana's.....making note of them and which card they represent. :D

Yep, I would say Knight of Fishes. :D

But oh my esteemed colleague, what is the interpretation of this beautiful card if I may ask? The lady seemed very distressed that she couldn't fathom it and I'm stupid as a brick in the way of tarot.

Just take the basic meaning of the card interpretation.
http://www.learntarot.com/ckn.htm
Use that as a "jumping off point". Consider what knights mean to you and what cups, or in this case fish, mean to you.
It could range anywhere from a declaration of love from a suiter or to someone you care about ....to action you need to take in the romantic department....ect. ;) What stands out to you in the picture.....what draws your attention back to it again and again? What does that object represent to you? These are the clues you will need to take note of to interpret what the meaning of the card is. Example.....the horse is in the water, not on the beach.....indicating that you are standing in your feelings....Horses are strong and stable.....so....your emotions (or who ever's this indicates) are stong and secure. The knight has the cup raised up in ofference. Indicating offering up your emotions to someone or something. (as I know know the topic of the reading it's difficult to relate it to anything other than the basics of the card) All of this was just an idea to get you going.....just brain storm a little and jot down those stray thoughts while you are looking at the card. Intuition will tell you which thoughts are more accurate. ;)
Good luck!

I agree with Dagda :)
& if you do a search in google for the 'Knight of Cups' you'll come up with loads of other idea's about why this card popped up :)
As the knight is holding the cup up to the sky I say this is a declaration, a promise to the self for love and of love :)
