I feel the same way about a good Claussen Dill pickle! :)

I shamelessly plug CLAUSSEN DILL PICKLES, because I think they are WICKED GOOD! :D

Nothing like a Claussen. My favorite snack - it's almost a food group where I'm concerned.

I do my own canning and I have attempted to replicate them. Went as far as draining the jar through a coffee filter to figure out the spices. Have the taste close but can't get the texture.

Also would have to go with a Klondike bar (the kind with almonds) after hours.

MMMMMMMMM :p

for me without a doubt it would be a warm blanket an old movie and a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream

CHUNKY MONKEY

then popcorn or pickles to get rid of the sweet taste but it is the best icecream I have ever found

For me Dr. Pepper is more of a addiction, joy has nothing to do with it. I MUST have it every day. Most everything else I can be happy with once a week like heavy new york cheesecake (plain), a slice of good tart apple pie, Terra Yukon Gold Salt & Pepper potato chips, a slice of good pizza with italian sausage, etc....

Has any one here ever had a Big Red? Sort of like a strawberry/bubble gum/cream soda thingy.

That's the best.

I wanna take it a different way. I enjoy it so much when the temperature in my room is perfect, and it's just me with the music I like, sitting in my favorite chair behind my computers, a dim light or maybe some candles, and just talking to the people I care about. That makes me feel really happy.

That would be perfect, except I would have someone *special* sitting there with me. :)

Godiva chocolate, and you forgot the whipped cream (the real stuff, not from a can).

I also love Chunky Monkey!!
Although my favorite comfort foods are: a big greasy hamburger and a mountain of fries, chocolate covered cherries (Fannie May, the ones covered in dark chocolate...mmmmmm) and a glass or two (and some days more) of Shiraz.
I'm working on the burger, fries, and Shiraz right now... and I am feeling better!

I spent the day in search of Oregon Chai tea. Not easy to find at the Beach. So, I guess Chai is one of them. Next I'd have to say, Napoleon, Pizza and Dulce DeLeche Ice cream by Haggan Daz - my fav used to be B&J chunky monkey. Oooops - I almost forgot Mountain Dew and Reese's Peanut butter cups.

I'm partial to pizza and pepsi...although pickles are pretty close too!! My new favorite lately is Smirnoff Ice, if it wasn't alcoholic I'd drink it 24/7!(they frown on me getting drunk at work...go figure!)

Get drunk Before work. That way you won't be getting drunk AT work. They can't really frown on that, can they? ;)

Just a thought.

for me it varies, sometimes it's a quiet cigarette, a glass of tullamore dew and a sci-fi paperback. other times it's a motorcycle and a long open road or my cruiser and 50 or so miles of interstate at 70/75mph to run on and no place special to go, just enjoy driving. then there's the simple pleasure of being by myself, not a common thing in the middle of a family when you've got two kids, their boy and girlfriends and a grandchild always around. i love them but i love spells of "peace and quiet" such as i find here too.

Can you make them with Lactaid? The taste would be close or gross. I don't know. My nephew is also alergic and that's a shame, really. I love milk and shakes.

Oh lactaid only works so well. I'm lactose intolerant, and even though they have lactaid milk and one or two other products, its never quite the same as a huge bowl o' Ben and Jerry's.....

As for the original idea, a quiet minute away from everyone and everything, a fine merlot and a smoke are perfect for calming my nerves and easing into the night -as for junk food - my current addiction is peeps, but when they are out of season - Rieces Pieces and Raisnets(sp), a big glass of coke and a movie!

I like the motorcycle ride too, but it's just too cold right now to even think about it. This summer I will be riding, just I'm a wuss, have to have the warm weather.

I am definately ready! I have my bike washed and ready to go when the weather permits.
Mud season, tell me about it, I have to have 4WD for my driveway. Think that is the reason I don't get much company? hehehe

I used to buy those when I was a kid. I haven't seen any in a while.
I've always had a thing for nouget! So 3 Musketeers and a Dr. Pepper are my two deadly sins.

For me, sometimes it's just garlic pizza, mountain dew, and dancing in the living room.

At sunup a mug of herbal tea (Traditional Medicinal's Female Toner or Cold Care - Hey, they taste GOOD!) with honey. A little later, a bag of Cape Cod brand White Cheddar Cheese Popcorn and a HUGE glass of Crystal Lite brand raspberry iced tea (made half strength cause I'm a wussy). In the afternoon, a can of mandarin orange slices = a smile.
And on a non-food note, Anytime I can look up and see clear sky above is just dandy, be it filled with sun, stars or clouds. Touching a hand gently against the cheek of a loved one in passing keeps the day on track for me.

As for almonds, smoked, baby, smoked. Who can resist?

My favorite dinner dish (not just cause it's easy):
