Hestia volunteered to be demoted so Dionysos could join the Olympians. Which upset the male/female balance.
So I was wondering if there were any other Greek Pagans/Hellenes out there and whether you number Hestia or Dionysos among the Olympic dieties?
I like them both but I'm not paticularly drawn to either of them but was curious....:D

I've always thought of Hestia as the Olympian (even if she was the Olympian maid so to speak), and Dionysos as the guy who was with the drunken nymphs. :D But I've always like Dionysos better. I'm more of a Celtic person then Greek but that just my 2 cents.

I think of Hestia and Dionysus to both be among the Olympians.I have never heard of the story that Hestia was demoted so Dionysus could join the Olympians. I believe that Hestia mainly tended the hearth. Because she did not move around like the other gods, I think that she is less talked about.
Even though Hestia is a sister of Zeus and Hera and Dionysus has a mortal mother, I think that I prefer Dionysus more. When I think of Dionysus, I immediately think of hedonism.

From another Celtic sort of Hellene (tee hee) - I put them both there, and also Heracles, because Zeus elevated him to the ranks of Olympus, according to some versions of the myths - so I see 14 Olympians.
