Great cartoon!
I wish the whole "socialization" crud would die the death it should have ages ago-
but this cartoon does it well ..

Yep...:) It really makes you wonder how people and societies functioned before the advent of "public school", doesn't it?

Yes,
it seems to have become sp widleyaccepted that "people " be seperated by age... yet so often..children were always with various ages, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents..older siblings, relatives..learning skills ( one of which would be socialization with many ages and types of people.) . the whole public -"norm" of school socialization is such a hoot!

That is a wonderful cartoon! I was homeschooled for most of my primary school years, and then went on to private. The social variety I got when homeschooled was much, much better!

my son can never play with his public school friends except on rare weekends because they're always either at school or doing homework. and now that summer's here, many of them have to go to summer school for doing poorly on standardized tests mandated by the "no child left behind" crap. they don't even get recess anymore!:fprisoner

Haha! So very true.
I wonder why the perception people have of the socialization of homeschooled children is so unlike the reality? It's frustrating.
