View Full Version : Astrology Trivia - Or Not?

Ages ago, I had an excellent astrology book that I loaned out and never got back. It had correspondences to physical characteristics of the signs. For instance, Leos are obsessed with their hair; either they have lots of beautiful hair or are obsessed with losing it. Libras have very pleasant, friendly faces. In my case, Taurus frequently has a cowlick in the front of the head, like the bull's forelock. I have an amazingly stubborn cowlick in the middle of my hairline in the front, and I know several other people born around my birthdate who also have them in the same spot! Does anyone know more about this, and does it seem to hold true in general?

There are different physical aspects related to signs and planets.
It's interesting when people tell you they are an Aries Sun or Aries ascendant just as you've been noticing the faded scar on their forhead. If you ask them about the mark, they will usually tell you some kind of story about when they were younger and they bonked themselves, rushing into something and not realizing that they might come to injury.
Aries rules the head and you can see how this kind of thing also goes along with Arian characteristics.
Often a Cancer sign person will have smooth rounded features, to face and form. Cancer is the sign of comfort and the home. Often love is shown with providing and eating of foods. Also notable is that Cancer is ruled by the moon, hence moon-faced Cancerian natives.
Capricorns often have knobby knees or scarred knees. Saturn, their plantary ruler, rules the knees. Caps are not afraid to get down and dirty to achieve what they aim for and climbing mountains, real or figurative, is very much what they're all about.
It's no wonder their knees take some punishment.
Leos are very leonine, and often have lovely flowing tresses, be they male or female. Not to say that other signs do not have nice hair, but it is more apparant with Leos because one way or another they attract notice, the spotlight.
Libras appear friendly and pleasant because they are ruled by Venus. They aim to please and actively dislike disagreements and discord. If you ever need anyone to mediate an argument, find yourself a Libra. Just look for the person who always seems to be smiling! :D

Thanks, Litha! I hadn't seen any other info on this other than the book I had, and I can't even remember the name of it. I know that it went into facial features, etc. in depth and was fascinating because it appeared to be true for lots of people I know. My ex-husband was a Leo and I met him in the 70's. He had long, flowing tresses then, and became very obsessed when he started to lose his hair in his thirties....

Two of my sons are Aries, one forever bumping head in the same spot when he was learning to walk, fell off a bike once and got a hematoma when he landed head first on the sidewalk.....
Don't recall head injuries with the other one, but he is a rather small guy who holds record for tackles as a linebacker in football, title for powerlifting, very ramlike in appearance...small but strong...
Ex-boyfriend was Libra, very pleasant, mellow guy, in 4 1/2 years never had an argument, wouldn't fight, not even to save the relationship.....that was part of the problem....he's also a lawyer and won't try a case unless he's sure he has a dang good argument.

Understanding of astrological concepts like corresponding planet/sign tendencies can be helpful when trying to understand others. I'm sure knowing your own children's personalities has helped you respond to them in just the way they relate to.
Today I was in a metaphysical shop and a lady was playing with the chimes displayed. She touched them with beringed perfectly manicured hands and seemed was very much taken with them. She had bangles on both wrists and above one elbow, an armband with a small feather dangle.
As I passed, she commented aloud how beautiful they sounded to her. I asked her if she was an air sign.
She said, " I'm a gemini. Is that an air sign?"
I nodded my head in assent and she wrinkled her brow and asked, " How did you know?"
I explained that air signs generally respond to things of air, like sounds and feathered animals.
Gemini also rules the hands, wrists and arms ;)

I just wanted to offer some validation in case anyone needed it because I got a few nice chills when I was reading these posts.
I am a Libra and am always, always being told I have a friendly looking face. Also, I have windchimes over the air area of my altar and windchimes in every tree I could reach around my house. Also, while I have an athame, I prefer to use a sword when calling the elements because I like the swishing sound, but I never thought about why before.
My Mom is a Capricorn and her knees are soooo scarred they are painful to look at. The same goes for my Dad and my Uncle.
My sister is a Cancer and she has the roundest head and face I have ever seen on a person. It is very cute and moonlike. And her skin is the smoothest. I'm very jealous.
I would love to learn more about this. Can anyone recommend some good books?

I don't know offhand books that have this information tho' I'm sure they're out there. Much of what I have posted has been from observation and 1st hand experience.

I wish I knew the name of the book I had, but it was so long ago it might be out of print. It was a beautiful book.

Freyja and others, I tried everywhere looking for the book on the physical characteristics of people in each zodiac sign. I have had no luck! :( Other than books, are there any websites that you guys know that describe the physical aspects of signs. I find the topic really interesting. It's sooo weird. I fit the description of the Leo. You said that Leos tend to be really into their hair and have a big "mane." That's me.

 I thought this thread had died a pretty quick death....I always found it fascinating, too. My ex-husband was a Leo who had beautiful hair when he was young and freaked out when he started losing it!
Thanks for that link, Mithrea! The description of my sign, Taurus was about 50% accurate for me. I'm petite but muscular and bigger boned for my size, which would be related to the Bull's strength. Taurus also tends to do more with their voice and many Tauruses are singers. Cher is a Taurus and my voice is like hers, deep, so I'm limited on what I can do with singing.

Thanks, that site was entertaining. I'm going to look up my friends and family to see if they have the physical characteristic of their zodiac sign.

I found a site where you can order a book: The Astrological Body Types by Judith A. Hill. The site contains a description of Aries reprinted from her book:
