Spread of the Week rules / instructions:

1. A new spread will be posted weekly (hopefully I'll manage it every Thursday and we may change it to bi-weekly or monthly if weekly doesn't seem like enough time to get the readings done).

2. If you'd like to attempt the spread and have a reading done for you using that spread in return, post in the thread.

3. The first person to post will receive the first reading from the 2nd person to post, etc. So, whoever posts in front of you is who you read for, and whoever posts behind you is who is reading for you.

4. The readings should be posted in the thread so that others can read them (after all, this is for the purposes of learning and we all learn better by reading over examples by others) UNLESS the reader deems that the information is too personal to be shared on an open board. If that is the case, then the reader should PM the person they are reading for, but post in the thread that the results were personal and their querent has been PM'd with the results of the reading.

5. Do not post in the threads if you are not willing to read for others. This is a reading exchange, not a free reading.

6. Use only the spread posted. You may use whatever deck you like.

If anyone else can think of any additional questions or rules, please let me know and I'll edit this post. I think the rules should be posted as the first post every week.

If you have a spread you'd like to submit for the "Spread of the Week", PM me and I'll add it to the queue. Potential spreads should be 10 cards or less, for ease of posting and to not overwhelm newbies who'd like to participate.

As usual, the first person to respond will read for me, and I will read for the last person to respond. :)

Ok! Here we go! This one should be REALLY fun! This was submitted by Shatril.

Past Life Spreads II: In-Depth Analysis
Once the focusing is completed , here are some spreads I use to look at specific past lives in more detail, in the context of life purpose and/or karmic lessons. There is also a version of this spread that provides more detailed information about the lifetime itself and less about life purpose issues, as well as a version that addresses relationships and combines both current and past lifetimes.

The layout has 13 cards, and looks like this:

......9.....10
...8............11
7...................12
.........13...........
1...................6
...2.............5
......3......4

Cards 7-11 represent a recent lifetime.
Cards 1-5 a more distant lifetime, both of which represent past lives that are having a strong influence on this lifetime and the question.

Cards 6, 12, and 13 are related to the current lifetime.

1 and 7 represent who they were in a past life
2 and 8 show what they did with that lifetime.
3 and 9 were the life purpose of the past lives.
4 and 10 show how and whether that purpose was resolved or attained.
5 and 11 show what was carried forward from that lifetime.
Cards 6 and 12 show how these things manifest in their life right now.

Card 13 is the current life's purpose, related to these past events. The cards are read in sequential order, staring with 1 and ending with 13.

I have added some extra time in on this one for several reasons. The spread is larger than usual, it deal with a subject that some of us may not have experience with, and because I will be out of town until the 15th! LOL

For Brightshores The Shapeshifter Tarot )I've never done anything like this, so I hope I don't screw things up to bad, ok here goes!)

1)Arianrhod The Goddess of Air (King of Wands)-you were a person of power and authority, and incredibly comfortable with it for better and worse, you moved through this power with incredible ease, and for all your deeds, you’ll be gaining both positive and negative karma that you should deal with.

2) Abundance (3 of Cups)-this card shows that with power and authority came riches and abundance all kinds everything from strong political connections to material gain, and friends in all places.

3) Initiation (The Fool)-this represents that you were learning and testing your boundaries and limitations, set by society, and yourself, you liked to push the envelope often sometimes out of public sight, to heighten your ambitions.

4)Rebirth (Death)-all to often like the Phoenix you destroyed yourself and made yourself stronger, as you rose from the ashes. sometimes inciting jealousy among rivals and comrades alike, because they were stuck to their old ways and refused to budge, allowing society to dictate to them, but only to you on a very outward level.

5) Oneness (The World)-you did indeed complete what you set out to do, and the confidence and ease in which you handle situations, is still an integral part of your being.

6)The Serpent (The Tower)-like the proverbial snake shedding its skin so did you and for a while you were a bit sensitive and had difficulty seeing clearly, but you moved on into the now, into a place where you are appreciated more then ever for your innate skills and abilities, and where you are able to show them off, all you were waiting for was the changing of the guards and you will become more knowledgeable, wise, and cunning, if you take care to go with the flow, otherwise, there’ll be issues.

7) Mastery (3 of Pentacles)-when you were young you became a jack of all trades, joyful and patient, nurturing your talents with dexterity, and precision, you stood strong in your foundations, and sowed many seeds to come afterwards, you fiercely defended what was yours to earn, sometimes with subtle power plays sometimes with hard aggression.

8) The Well (Ace of Cups)-you knew how to dip deep within your own source, pulling all that you needed from your vast stores of energy, enthusiasm, youth, and pragmatism, you were creative and innovative.

9)Passage (6 of Swords)- the purpose here was for you to learn how to rely on yourself, and crank through obstacles and difficulties, finding different ways, being driven but learning how to be shrewd and more appropriately when to pounce, and retreat, you were struck badly at many points, and sometimes staying out from under the radar was best, even though it may have pounded some hard blows to your pride.

10) The Father (The Emperor)-at some point you cracked a little bit, and sought sound guidance and instruction re-reminding you of the importance of interconnections, and wisdom sought from those who have been there done and seen that and more. You did in fact accomplish part of what you set out to do, but in your quest for power and accomplishment forgot that you cannot do everything alone, a delicate balance that was upset. Leaving you slightly resentful

11) Sorceress (The High Priestess)- after some solace and hard thinking, you may have a little difficulty asking for others help in achieving your goals, but still your strength of relying on yourself is still strong in you now, playing both to your detriment, and to your strengths.

12) The Sun-if you learn to reforge your connections to all, your victories will be easy and swift, and rewarding, teamwork and connection is a key player here, and you will learn to merge and flow with the powerful currents and destructive tsunamis of life, manifesting on all levels

13)Cerridwen The Warrior of Water( Knight of Cups)-This life’s current lessons are all about renewal, and upheaval, chaos and being reborn from within it, you’ve got to be tough, strong and courageous. Remember to take all of the lives past lessons to see you through and come out on top as you have before, trust in yourself, and have faith in your abilities and the higher powers, and rise high above.

Okay Lisa here I go.. Still a little confused but I'm trying.

1: Eight of Wands: you were a voyager.. a very bad one.. but you were at sea.
2: The Hierophant: You learned things.. but you were extremely lazy about it.. you didn't take those teachings to heart.
3: The Hanged man: (( Little concern since these all are reversed.. unless it's telling me it's exact opposite of your soul today..as in you learned a lesson and pulled a 180...)) The purpose I see here in this life was a punishment like you were at sea to pay for something you had done.

4: Ten of Pentacles: You had a family.. so I am seeing you left the sea..
5: Ace of Swords: Your strength was carried into this life.. a determination.
6: Judgement: It's how you deal with everyday situations.. its how you handle making the decisions you make.

7: Five of swords: You were a teacher, an instructor.. you showed people things about themselves and showed them what they needed to do to make the right choice.
8: The Emperor: You made a place for yourself in the world. You were highly looked up to.
9: Page of Pentacles: That purpose was to grow. You were growing inside your heart.

10: Nine of cups: (( I don't think I understand what I see in this card the meaningof the card is going against what I see in my mind but.. )) You did.. but not fully, you found love and a life you wanted but that which was in your heart was not fullfilled.
11: King of wands: The need to find the right mate.
12: Tow of Cups: You are not alone on your island as you think. You just need to look behind you.. your soul is unable to recognize what is there for you..

13: Three of pentacles: Your sometimes overwhelmed by what you receive, you don't understand why your soul is twisting the way it is. You feeling like you aren't gaining what you are suppose to and it's the track record of your soul.

Okay I beleive I did this right.. but I'm still learning.

much loves

I'll jump in on this one! (Gods know I need the practice *wink*)

I'll read for you, Gaia21!

FoxFae
May 9th, 2007, 07:47 PM
Okay, Gaia21! I did your reading outside, and after each past life, I’m gonna put a little intuitive story I got while reading. I won’t assure you that my intuition is perfect, but they’re just something I got the feel for while drawing the cards. :hahugh:

Here we go (and I hope it makes sense!):

1-6- More Distant Past Life

1- Five of Pentacles (Who you were)
- You knew the hardships of life well, probably due to a lack of financial income. You may have been a peasant, slave or just in the lower class.

2- Queen of Pentacles (What you did)
- You were close to nature and had a real experience working. You may have worked out in the fields to ear riches, or raise food, for you and your family.

3- Eight of Swords (Life’s Purpose)
- This card indicates that you felt bound and helpless in your situation, which leads me to think it was a slavery type of issue, or a situation you really could not escape. This served to teach you about working and thriving under helpless circumstances and learning how to cope without losing control.

4- The Chariot (How/whether that purpose was resolved)
- You took the reigns and controlled whatever aspects of your life you could. You learned to flourish under such situations and come out as victorious, even if it was only a personal victory.

5- Prince of Pentacles (What was carried forward)
-From this lifetime, you’ve carried forward the realization that, though money can’t buy everything, it is a form of power (unfortunately). You’ve also learned that happiness can be achieved without monetary gain and purposes.

6- Ten of Chalices(How what was carried forward manifests now)
- In your present life, the goal of the Prince of Pentacles has shown you has manifested as a deep understanding of love and the richness that can come from emotions alone. Chances are, you have some very close friends and family which you shower love and praise onto. You understand, from this past lifetime, that love is just as “rich” as gold.

7-11 More Recent Past Life

7- Six of Wands (Who you were)
-You were well known, and famous in a sense. People knew your name for miles around and you wouldn’t have had it any other way. Praise and fame came easily to you.

8- Ace of Chalices (What you did)
-Your main claim to fame is from the start of a relationship. Perhaps you married well and for the right reasons: love and emotional stability.

9- Ten of Wands (Life’s Purpose)
- Your purpose was a bit of a burden. You had to learn that to achieve your goals required hard work and a struggle. Though fame was there, it didn’t make the process easier, and it fact, probably served to hinder it.

10- Five of Swords (How/whether the purpose was resolved)
- You were victorious at achieving your purpose, but to what loss? It seems you may have won on the surface, but what you lost was equal to, if not greater, than the gain. This resulted in a bit of sorrow through your victory.

11- Four of Wands (What carried forward)
-From this lifetime, you carried forward the need and understanding of stability. Family life and relationships were followed through with the thought of stability prevalent in your mind. You also learned that after such a trying and hard time to get to stability, a bit of celebration isn’t frowned upon!

12- Judgement (How what was carried forward manifests now)
-In your present life, the goal of stability is manifested by the need to face a major change. Sometime in your life, (be it in the past, present or future) you’ve most likely had to face something you didn’t want to do, either for emotional, financial, or personal reasons. But, because of this past life, you realized you had to do it in order to gain the stability you learned to appreciate from this past life.

13- King of Wands (Current Life’s Purpose)
-Perhaps a very passionate man is the main focus in your life right now? *wink wink* But, more seriously, your current life’s purpose is to finally take charge and do things the way you want. It is to learn how to go that extra mile to do what you wish, and to be forceful about things you know are right, or are things you really want. It tells you to control and use passion for those things out of your reach, and soon you’ll get them!

Now, just as a note from me, I had little ideas of stories, like I said earlier.

The distant past life: To me, it seems you were kind of a slave/serf, who worked as hard as they could to keep food on the table, and despite all this, you still learned to be happy and to find richness in the life and people around you.

The recent one: I see a type of clandestine love affair between you (probably a noble person) and your soon-to-be spouse (probably a poorer person). You most likely gave up your family, friends, and perhaps some of your money in order to be with your love, but it resulted in complete happiness in the end.

For PentacleDreamer (with the Druidcraft Tarot)
Distant Past Life

1 (Who you were) Six of Pentacles: The Six of Pentacles tells me that you did not have much in this life, but that you were generous with what you did have. Sometimes you were prone to giving more than what you really could though. Ultimately though, this exchange enriched your life.

2- (What you did) King of Cups: You were a creative person who was very skilled with emotions and sensuality. Sometimes this muddied the waters a bit, as you let your emotions drive you. You loved the finer things of life.

3- (Life’s Purpose) Hanged Man: The life focused on the value of sacrifice. You were learning how to give something of yourself so that others might benefit, and also learning about how perspectives can change the way that a problem was perceived. This suggests to me that the things you were giving to others were things that you were reluctant to part with, but which ultimately taught you a lot about yourself.

4- (How/whether that purpose was resolved) Ace of Cups: Despite the resistance to sacrifice, you eventually found the ever giving grail of your spirit, and the wealth of emotions that overflowed from it helped you succeed at your purpose. You found your emotional and intuitive well-being was fed and rejuvenated through the purpose.

5- (What was carried forward) Queen of Cups: As a result, you sometimes swing too far the other way, and give too much. It has become difficult to say no, even when you need to. Giving can feel very good, but it can also be a drain on your own needs. Don’t forget to look after yourself while you are taking care of your friends and family.

6- (How what was carried forward manifests now) Ten of Swords: You tend to sabotage yourself, because you don’t leave yourself any resources. Because you are always caring for others, you sometimes feel like you are completely weighed down. You would like it very much if sometimes those you are helping would come over and help you with the swords upon your back. And sometimes, you even feel a little betrayed that you give so much, and few enough return the favor.

Less Distant Life

7- (Who you were) Three of Cups: The Three of Cups says that you were a merry and joyous sort. The life was full of friendship. You were good at helping others resolve their emotional struggles.

8- (What you did) King of Wands: You were a person of ideas, and of confidence. You were the idea person, and very good at delegating tasks to others. Sometimes however, your ideas weren’t practical or considerate of the smaller picture.

9- (Life’s Purpose) Five of Pentacles: Your life this time was about learning when it is appropriate to hide from the world’s troubles. You were trying to come to terms with the fact that your good intentions and ideas can’t help everyone. Bringing those things into the world can prove more of a challenge than you thought.

10- (How/whether the purpose was resolved) Nine of Pentacles: You partially came to terms with the lesson of the life, but not completely. You still wanted to save everyone from their problems, but your ideas became more practical in nature.

11- (What carried forward) Queen of Pentacles: You have kept a sense of your need to nurture those around you, and there remains a bit of a struggle with the fact that sometimes you can’t help others, but you are more in touch with the healing and rejuvenating nature of earthly existence.

12- (How what was carried forward manifests now) Five of Cups: You sometimes feel you are alone, but yet are not. You have more companions and hope in your life than you realize. Though some ignore you, others are always at your back. These are good and true friends.

13- (Current Life’s Purpose) Justice: Your current life is focused upon what is fair and balanced in life, and how you can discover the secret to maintaining that ideal. This card shows the owl, traditionally a symbol of wisdom. Justice is a warrior here, which suggests a balance between being prepared to defend yourself and others as well as a willingness to take action. Also, lurking in the corner is a spider on her web. To me this suggests not only perseverance (when a spider’s web is destroyed, she immediately sets to rebuilding it) but also of dynamic balance, because the web is delicately secured between a variety of objects and also because the spider’s life is based upon the delicate rhythms of her home.

Elemental Balance and Other Observations:
5- Cups 4- Pentacles 1-sword 1-wand
4- Court Two Majors 7-minors
These lives focus on emotional and practical concerns rather than on ideas or willpower. Part of the reason that aspects of these lessons continue to be a theme for you is possibly the lack of Fire and Air. You are facing the emotional and practical aspects, but you have been short on ideas and on willpower to change it.

However, the involvement of both the Hanged Man and Justice suggest to me that you have some sort of Divine assistance. The powers that be are involved in what you are trying to learn.

It is interesting that the courts all landed in two positions – Who you were and What you carried forward. It is also interesting that both of the cards representing who you were are male and what you carried forth are both female. This suggests a shift between authority and power and nurturing and generosity, which echoes the lesson that you were trying to learn in those lives – how to balance taking care of others with having the power to say no in order to care for yourself.

What a neato spread – definitely putting this one in my journal. :)

For Taliesyn-using the RWS deck. I chose this one for this as I am more familiar with the cards, and this is always an intense reading for me.

1-Ace Wands—Who you were—You were a man of strength, power and great sexual energy, in love with life. Things would manifest for you as if by magic. You probably often said, “I’m the luckiest person you know,” to your friends.

2-III Wands—What you did in this lifetime—This card indicates to me that you were a trades man, as in like the West Indies Company type thing. You were not at the level where you actually had to go on the voyages, but were at the money end of things, as indicated by the following cards.

3- The Moon—Life purpose for this life—Because of your pure animal appeal, due to your nice physical aspects you were beset by strange feelings as regards appropriate behavior to the opposite sex. The purpose of this life was to learn to control those feelings and urges. This doesn’t mean that you were some kind of pervert, far from it, but that these things taught you control of the mind in ways that helped with your life.

4-King of Pentacles—Shows how or whether the purpose was attained—it is certain that you experience great success in business, certainly fulfilled the predictions of the first two cards and took them to their highest potential. Due to the process of the moon, you were able to properly manifest your desires in this life. You were also a person who enjoyed being in nature more that being in the lovely house (castle) that you lived in.

5-IV Pentacles—What you carried forward—You have brought forward a desire for material comforts. You seem to want to try to protect you belongings. You build a layer up to protect not only your creature comforts, but other areas as well. The four show the person protecting his most vital energy areas, and blocking the soles of his feet. Unfortunately, the back is not covered. It appears that you remain vulnerable in this life.

6-Magician—How is what you brought manifesting in this life—The vulnerability of the IV of Pentacles has taught you to use not only the material things of this world, but the psychic and spiritual aspects to manifest your desires. You have made the connection that your thoughts are what manifest your desires. As above, so below. As a man thinketh so will he be. You are able to manifest everything that you put your mind on, whether for good or evil. All people do this, but you are conscious of this, as this is the magic of this world.

7-King of Wands—Who you were?—You were charismatic in this life. You possessed natural leadership skills and felt that is was natural for people to want to follow you. Energy abounds.

8-VI Swords—What you did in this lifetime—I can’t help feeling that you are the ferryman of this card, and the traditional meanings do not all apply. Because of your King of Wands attributes people were inclined to trust and follow you. Based on the following cards, I absolutely am sure that you were someone who helped others through hard times, like lightened the load, and brought them out the other side.

9-IV Wands—Life purpose for this life—This card clearly indicates that the ferryman has taken the people to a safe spot. They have come out of the protection of the walled city and heading in celebration to a structure that is very basic, but beautiful. This is the freeing of the mind, body and spirit. Celebration of life and freedom from concern of ones personal safety.

10-Queen of Cups—Shows how or whether the purpose was attained—Based on the other cards of this reading I’d be willing to bet that you were a mental health worker. The combination of the King of Wands attributes (Charisma) and this card (solidity and emotion) you are a natural for this. You lead people through the dark nights of the soul. Taking them to a place or level where they felt safe. This was something that you were good at, as you had the commingling of earth and water, which is stability and emotion. This is a combination that would help you understand the emotions of others, yet inspire a solid base for the clients.

11-VII Wands—What you carried forward—The success of this lifetime has brought forward a determination to fight the good fight. In fact, you enjoy the challenge of the battle. You expect to win, and often do, but it has become your way of knowing that you are live.

12-Sun—How is what you brought manifesting in this life—Because of what you did and saw in these previous lives, you are much closer to the achievement of enlightenment. You have clear path into the light. This life is your opportunity to burst free from normal consciousness to openness and freedom.

Let me know what you think.

1. judgement rev
2. the sun
3. 8 wands
4. 9 wands rev
5. page wands
6. page cups

you were someone who was judged unfairly. possibly because of certain beliefs you held. you were an inventor or someone who brought enlightenment of some kind. i feel like your life purpose was to seek knowledge and truth. you were humbled by knowledge and very passionate about your beliefs. you carried your message to others. this may be what you were being "judged" for and were condemned or couldn't go on in that lifetime with your purpose. i think you were close to what you were to obtain but not quite. this yearning to learn and teach has carried over to this lifetime. it manifest now in the way you can sympathize with other people. possibly supplying them with your knowledge of how to cope with emotional subjects.

7. 3 cups
8. 6 cups
9. knight swords
10. 2 coins
11. the world
12. the chariot

you were possibly an entertainer of some kind or just really fun to be around. perhaps you were the family member that kept everyone together. you were intelligent and quick witted but kind as well. you probably were a very good salesmen. you seemed to have obtained the knowledge to bring intelligence and kindness together in harmony. it looks like you obtained your purpose in that life. the power to balance these two aspects is what you manifest now from that lifetime.

your last card, the 4 cups, suggest that your are anxious to find that harmony but may not be able to see it. this card suggest that we meditate and look within to find the answers. find that "power to balance" and utilize it.

That's awesome! Seriously, I'm an inventor (Scientist) right now and people tell me to go into sales or be in public relations because I often talk to people. And I am the backbone of my family. Perhaps this is all just carrying over from the past, eh?

and the 4 of Cups makes absolutely perfect sense...

I find this amazing. I do have a memory of a life as a trader, and most of what you said there sounds like me. as for the second one, well,
maybe a Shrink, maybe a Shaman. alot of what you said here touched chords within me. thank you.

Taliesyn pointed out that I forgot to interpret the 13 card in this reading. Thank goodness I wrote that reading down when I did it. The card was the Empress and defines the current life purpose--It appears that this lifetime is about exploring the emotional aspects of life. Possibly coming to grips with what are called the more feminine aspects of ones emotions. It is always important for a well rounded existence to incorporate both the masculine and feminine aspects. It looks like this is an area of focus for you this lifetime. It isn't hard to see how this fits in the reading. Having had the successful mechant, and the successful shaman/ferryman, which are the more analytical mind sides of life. It stands to reason that it would be time to work on the more emotional aspects of existence. Well, I don't know how this fits with your life, but hope it makes sense to you.

Sorry I forgot this, I got interupted during the reading :( and that must have caused me to miss it.

for Curiousfae using the Ancestral Path deck

1 - 5 = A distant lifetime:
Who you were: 8 of Swords
What you did: 9 of Swords
Life purpose: King of Pents (Sacred Circles)
Was the purpose resolved: Hierophant
What was carried forward: Lovers

6. How does the distant life manifest now: 5 of Wands (Staves)

With this set of cards I'm thinking that you were born (most likely, although could have been forced) into some form of slavery. You were trapped and possibly could have found a way to make your lot better, but it would have been at the expense of others, and so you chose to stay as you were. You were worked very hard and possibly tortured or punished often. The purpose of this life was to learn to accept this slavery. Being debased and treated as a lesser being was what you needed to learn for future lifetimes, perhaps as a way not to behave towards others. It also taught you to be calm and make the best of your circumstance, even though they were awful. You learned this and were able to help others come to this sort of grave acceptance which helped to lessen their (and your) suffering. What you carried forward was a knowledge that you can choose to suffer for what you believe in, and that you would not punish others for the same "crime" in the future.

This has been carried forward into this life as a constant internal dialogue and sort of second guessing of yourself. You always want to be fair, and perhaps you push others, but you are constantly trying to determine if you are pushing them (or yourself) too hard.

7-11 = More recent lifetime:
Who you were: Judgement
What you did: Prince of Wands (Staves)
Life purpose: 2 of Swords
Was the purpose resolved: Temperance
What was carried forward: 4 of Swords

12. How does the more recent life manifest now: Hermit

This one makes me think of an inventor. You were a bringer of new ideas, new ways of thinking. You took from your experience and knowledge and tinkered with it and prodded and poked at it until you came up with something new and useful. I see you as doing this since you were young, perhaps taking apart toasters to see how they worked. If something broke down you were impatient with it and learned to fix it and make it better and more efficient. You had a passion for this work and it sometimes consumed you. You had a hard time balancing your life with your work. You would think faster than you could act, your thoughts and ideas raced ahead of what you and the physical world around you were capable of. It was hard for you to learn to adapt the things you had to your purposes. You were able to combine and create new things, but it was a frustrating process and you often wished that your tools were better suited for your work.

This affects your recent life in that you often retreat into yourself to think and ponder ways to make things better and more effective. You take the time to really get to know what you can do so as to make it happen in the world.

13. Current life purpose: 3 of Cups

Your current life is about integration. Since it is a cups card it is an integration of love and emotion into your life, you are here to make others (and yourself) happy. You are constantly second guessing yourself and going into your head to think and decide if what you are doing will bring true happiness. You give alot of thought to your actions before you carry them out, and you consider others feelings as deeply as you do your own.

Well, that was FUN! I hope it makes some sense to you! :)

PD! I'm sorry I didn't comment on your reading for me. I could have sworn that I had! :)

6: Judgement: It's how you deal with everyday situations.. its how you handle making the decisions you make.

12: Tow of Cups: You are not alone on your island as you think. You just need to look behind you.. your soul is unable to recognize what is there for you..

13: Three of pentacles: Your sometimes overwhelmed by what you receive, you don't understand why your soul is twisting the way it is. You feeling like you aren't gaining what you are suppose to and it's the track record of your soul.This is quite accurate and I really enjoyed the story of being a terrible voyager. LOL Sounds just like me. I'd be seasick the whole time. I'll have to take a look around me and see what is there waiting for me to discover it so that I can stop twisting and turning. Thanks for you hard work and you did just fine! :)

Hi Shatril - I'm so sorry it took me so long to do this spread for you! It's a really interesting one - I hope I do it justice for you! (I used the Gendron Tarot)

Tons of reversals here..

Distant Lifetime...
1. Temperance - You were a person of some influence, in a fairly delicate position - perhaps a counselor to a powerful person or in some kind of position that required tact and diplomacy.

2. Princess of Cups Reversed - Unfortunately, you were prone to being influenced yourself by some unsavory people - perhaps the advice you were given was not good, or other people used you to achieve their own goals.

3. Two of Wands Reversed - The purpose of that life was to see if you could resist the desire for power and the temptation to achieve personal gain through unethical means.

4. Transition (Death) Reversed - I think you were able to partially achieve your purpose - but you became used to being in a position of influence and power, and I think there were times when you were reluctant to risk your position to do what was right.

5. 9 of Swords - You may be prone to feelings of guilt, anxiety, and second-guessing yourself, your motives, and your decisions. You may be unwilling to trust yourself in certain situations, especially situations in which you are placed in a position of authority, based on experiences from this life.

6. 4 of Cups - Based on your feelings of anxiety represented by the previous card, you may be going through a period of stagnation, due to a reluctance to take charge and pursue possible opportunities, especially in a social or emotional context.

More recent lifetime...

7. Wheel of Fortune Reversed - You may have been a person who was often down on their luck - never able to quite "get it together" and make something of your life. Alternatively (or at the same time!) you may have been someone who made their living by their wits, relying on Lady Luck - a gambler perhaps, or even a thief, swindler, or con-artist of some sort.

8. Two of Cups Reversed - I get the impression that relationships, particularly romantic relationships, were difficult for you during this lifetime. It looks like a bad relationship or series of bad relationships was a significant element in your life. You may have had difficulty trusting others.

9. Three of Cups Reversed - The life purpose of this existence may have been to teach you the dangers of selfishness, self-indulgence, and not treating others with kindness and respect.

10. The Empress Reversed - If your life purpose was achieved, I think it was something of a Pyrrhic victory. It may have taken the destruction of your home and family life during this existence for you to learn this lesson.

11. Prince of Swords Reversed - You may have learned to manipulate people and facts to benefit you; you may have learned to take knowledge or rumors and turn it to your advantage.

12. The Hanged One - The outcome of all this unpleasantness may be having a positive effect on you now - you found that the conniving, the manipulation, and the wheeling-and-dealing didn't benefit you in the end. As a result, in your current lifetime, you have an entirely new perspective. You have compassion and empathy for others, and are dedicated to higher goals.

Summary... Current Life's Purpose
13. Queen of Wands Reversed. This card actually fell out of the deck (upright) while I was shuffling, and ended up in this final position, so it must have an important message to impart. So - I think both the upright and reversed meanings apply. Perhaps this represents some of your strengths and weaknesses you gained through these lifetimes. You are creative, clever, witty, warm, wise, and enthusiastic - the cleverness probably comes from the more recent lifetime, while the wisdom may come from a lifetime spent counseling the powerful. Also, though - your intelligence and confidence may sometimes lead you to be a bit overbearing or controlling - the recent lifetime may have led you to believe that you are the only one you can trust to look out for your own best interests, and during the more distant lifetime you may have been accustomed to trying to control and even intimidate others.

~~~
I hope this makes some sense - sorry if it was a bit lacking in cheerfulness! What a great spread - this one is definitely going in my journal.
Hi Aluokaloo - Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this one!
It really makes a lot of sense, especially the final card - that very much (almost creepily so) sums up what my life has been like this time around. The more recent life description might well explain a bit about some unfortunate personality traits I have... and the more distant one does ring true in many ways as well. I think I'm going to have to really sit down and think about this reading... and see how I can hopefully learn to, as you put it, merge and flow with the tsunamis of this life. (Beautifully put, by the way.)
Thank you very much for reading for me! :)
okay Zephyrstorm- here we go!
past life spread
distant past
1. who were you? 5 Wands
Someone involved in a conflict- but I see your participation as a verbal one- like a diplomat or mediator, trying to end the conflict.
2. what did you do? 6 cups (reversed)
I'd say you harnessed your emotions and took the higher moral ground, beliving in your goals and in yourself. that you tried to inspire that same adult additude in those you were attempting to calm.
3. what was your life's pourpose? 6 wands (reversed)
you were learning that you don't always have to win- that comprimise and peaceful resolution are valid. I think it was your purpose to end the conflict peacefully.
4. was it resloved? Queen of Swords
your strength of character and determination saw you through, and others either got with the program or got out of your way. I'd say you acomplished everything you set out to do.
5. what is carried forward into this life? Justice (reversed)
I'd have to say that even though you learned about peacful solutions, you also developed a bit of moral superiority- a "My way or the highway" approach at times.
6. manefestation in this life- knight wands
I would say that this is what makes you a seeker of spiritual truths- not "settling" for another's "truths" but seeking for that "higher ground on your own.
Recent past
7. who were you? 3 swords
solitude, sorrow, lonliness- these things surrounded you. perhaph you wrote poetry....
8. What did you do? page wands (reversed)
I think you hid your true feelings inder a mask of frivolity- I get the feeling of a 1930's dancer (don't ask me why...)
9. Life's purpose The Star
This life was a gift you you- a time for you to learn humility and balance after being in a position of power and authority.
10. was this life's purpose resloved? King of Cups (reversed)
I would say no. I think you becamed obsessed with excapism, running away from your lessons through addictions and obsessions.
11. what have you carried forward? Chariot
YOu bring with you an urge to succeed- to overcome the troubles from that life.
12. manefestation- the Fool (reversed)
you try so hard, sometimes you trip over your own feet (so do I) learn to breathe, and slow down.
13. Present Lifes purpose- 8 pentacles
Remember to look at the accomplishments and recognize their worth.
yes this does make a lot of sense, I have knowledge of the not so savory lifetime. I was a gambler, trickster, and con artiist, although male in that life. I don't know if you are old enough to remember the TV show Marverick, well that charater always comes to mind when I think of that life.
Overbearing and controlling why I never control, now change that immediately :rollingla I resemble that.
The first life you saw is new to me, but does explain some of my tendencies in this life also.
Good Job, thanks
