I'm Almost Certified!!

In Scuba Diving, that is.....

Hehe.... I've spent the last two days learning how to scuba dive and have done 4 dives (just a little over 2 hours) so far...I've done 3 coral reefs and one ship reck....all I have to do now is the written part...some quizzes and a final exam.
Diving is so cool!! In the last two days I've seen so many different creatures.... a Hawksbill turtle, (swam right over me) an Eagle Ray, (swam right under me) a Sting Ray, a Moray Eel, lobsters, sea cucumbers, ..... and I held an Arrow Crab, and a pin cusion sea urchin (it sucked on to my hand....sure felt weird)..... and there's so many fish..... it's definately one of the most amazing experiences I've had.....
Anyone else do any diving? Have any cool stories to share??

I've never done any diving ( kind of hard to do with out a large body of water nearby:p ) But that is something I've always wanted to do.

When I was growing up we lived close to the ocean and we used to do to the beach all the time. ~sigh~ I miss the water so much

Wow! Diving is one of those things I've always thought was neat! I'd love to do it, but it may take a little bit of coaxing from the people with me. See, I have this big, unexplained fear of large bodies of water...

I WILL do it someday though! :D

Thats awesome! Whos certifying you? I was going to get certified with my family, but then my lil brother couldn't so we all backed out.

But thats really cool. Once you get your open water diver dealy done, you can do all kinds of fun stuff :).

If you're going down 74 feet, how long can you stay? If you dived 1 hour before hand? If you just ate? If you have unusual nitrogen levels? ;)

Congrats!!!! I got certified 20 years ago, but I haven't
been down in years. Now that my daughter is old enough to get certified that might change!

I would love to learn how to dive. I love snorkeling, but that must be small change compared to diving.

I certainly admire you as I can't even swim lol,
I have always enjoyed the ocean/nature progs you see on tv and
sat in awe at what looks like a spiritual experience.

I'm getting certified by a company called UBS (Underwater Boat Survices) Diving Center.... my instructer's name is Scott, :) he's really an awesome teacher, knows the names of all the fish and is really patient and understanding (I have trouble equalizing my ears and he's been really helpful with that).
It's my open water diving cert. that I'm going for actually....I should be writing the final on Monday.... and I didn't find the diving chart too difficult to figure out...just a matter of knowing what to look for, I guess. :)
