Well, I finally got off my buttocks and made the Celtic themed prayer beads I've had in my head since last Samhain. A friend and I made some together today and I am posting my pictures of mine, which I'm quite proud of. Starting on the left hand side, the nine pinkish white beads represent the realm of Sky, the top nine green beads represent the realm of Sea, and the brownish nine beads represent the realm of Land. My friend and I both came up with some chants / associations for each realm that we can use when meditating with them. I chose to use red glass beads as the separators as a representation of Fire as a catalyst and inspiration in Celtic beliefs (ie, the "fire in the head" or imbas). Here is a picture of mine:

Here is a picture of my friend's beads. She used wooden beads and shells as her separators between the bead sets.

Thanks! I have been wanting to make these since last Samhain, but I am glad I waited because they turned out better than I thought they would - I am not a Crafty person, lol. If anyone else has some prayer beads, please share!

very cool.
what did you string them on?
I'm working on collecting the beads for mine, but when I finally get them done, I'll have to post them.

We used clear nylon string - like fishing line. I was thinking of using beading wire, but I didn't want it to be stiff.

I don't want mine stiff either and nylon seems like a good idea. Thanks!
